Thoughts on this game? Really like the falcons at home here + the number. Byu has shown their true colors the past couple of weeks. What do you guys think? %^_

Tough game to call. AFA has only played one team all year on BYU's level, which was Utah, and the Falcons were 439-191 in that game. Incredibly, they only managed to lose by 7 points. My gut instinct is that AFA is overrated, but Byu's defense leaves a lot to be desired. Really tough game to call IMO. Good luck though!

Come on ND! It's the running dog scenario!!!!

Air Force might win this game outright!

I really think AFA has overachieved this year, but i don't like BYU's defense enough to bet on them. The AFA personnel looks extremely mediocre to me.

i dont think so. since troy calhoun took over air force has been a wrecking machine at home, 9-2 past two years. they did lose 2 this year but they were close games. with byu falling off the map considerably the past few weeks, i see AF outright

True, but their schedule has been weak, and the one decent team they played, Utah, beat them much worse than the final score indicated.

Utah is a better defensive team than BYU. AF will have some success running the ball here. I think this game comes down to who plays the cleaner game and don't turn the ball over. Both of these teams have an excellent turnover margin. AF (+12) and BYU (+10). But I have to favor the home running dogs getting 5.5 points at home.

Good points

AF has a hot young coach, but a closer look reveals that they are not running for the same per carry average as in the past and BYU has often run them out of town in this series (match-up issue?).

AF's personell is always mediocre.....as is Navy's and Army's....that is what makes those teams so unique.......they should realistically lose every game on paper.....they are usually much slower and much smaller then their opponents.....but they are usually more efficient then their opposition......that is what makes them so dangerous!

What game were you watching? I watched that game from start to finish. Utah took the early lead and AF clawed their way back and led for the rest of the game. They should've won outright, Utah scored on their last drive to take the game. I believe AF got 10 pts and obviously covered. To say that Utah beat them much worse than the final score indicated is a gross misrepresentation of actual events.

Are you serious? Utah shut AFA down for the most part. I think they allowed AFA to rush for like 1.3 yards/rush (AFA only had 53 yards rushing for the game). Utah dominated AFA's OL. It was a minor act of God that AFA covered that game.

Utah had 24 first downs to AFA's 9 and outrushed the mighty Falcon running attack nearly 4-1.

The score is all that matters for that particular game, but evaluating AFA's true value moving forward requires more than just looking at the final score. That's all i am saying. If they played Utah 10 times, the Utes would beat them by double digits the majority of the time. Utah was clearly well ahead of AFA even though they only squeaked out a seven point win in that particular game.

5-0 SAT,

I too watched every play of the Utah vs. Air Force game and saw the game just as you did...unfortunately there will always be some people that see the game with rose tinted glasses, and until those people learn a little big more about handicapping it's going to be hard for them to make money long term in capping...good analysis bud...
