Statement from President and CEO Pat Bowlen on Jay Cutler
DenverBroncos.com

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos President and CEO Pat Bowlen today released the following statement:

"Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by Head Coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful.

A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos.

We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded.”

Not a very good impression Cutler is making on teams that may have or may be interested in trading for him.

But then again, he has said he wanted to be traded & I don't know why Denver or any other team would ever wants to keep a player on their team that has no interest in playing for them....

He has a right to be pissed. The first thing the new guys in charge tried to do was trade him and then lied to him about it. Then when they tried to make things right they just pissed him off more by saying he could be traded at any day. That's not the type of security I'd want as an NFL quarterback...

When he was drafted, I thought he was the best QB in the draft, just like I thought Drew Brees was in his draft.

I'd like to see the Jets get him!

I would love to see any of the AFC teams get him. Specially within the division. Jets are a real option and they might get him.

I do not know about you guys but with this crisis everyone is getting fired. Having the uncertainty that you might not have your job is the worst. In football one of the most important words is commitment. Still I business yes but there is no heart. I saw McDaniel’s in the interview on NFL total access and I would not trust his punk ass a bit. So I understand Jay’s attitude and the Jets should be lucky to have him.

Yeah but the NY media will just loooooooooovveeee him.

For some reason I think that Ryan will rein him in a little better than that soft coach they have in Denver.

Listening to incoming calls is hardly "tried to trade him". McD dismissed all of the original calls on his own. A trade proposal never crossed Bowlen's desk.

Bitch ass is under contract on the cheap through 2011. Contract ploy by Bus Cook all along to get an early extension. Show me the last QB with 3 years under his belt that got extended 3 years early?

Bad analogy. Cutler's *job* is that of an NFL QB. He was in no danger of losing that.

He's more like a high paid corporate VP who heard a rumor that he might get 'transferred' from the Chicago office to the LA one and then cried like a baby.

Newsflash....the softie who created this situation by coddling Cutler for too long got canned in late December. McD has laid it down that no one person is greater than the team (no matter the # on his back)

What remains to be seen is if this story hurts JC's trade value due to his immaturity or creates a bidding war amongst 3-4 teams hungry for a young pro-bowl caliber QB with a ton of natuaral talent?

I really, really hope the Jets don't bite on this trap. I ignore all the talent and potential he has for the mental midget play he has shown over the years. And if NY does get him, I would strongly lean to a very unhappy ending.

So then McD needs to stand up and say hey this is our franchise QB and he needs to act like one. They can start docking his pay every day he doesn't show up for (mandatory) camp. The best the Broncos will get is a Rookie Qb back now or maybe one of the two Cleveland QB.

Rookie QB + Rookie coach = 5-11 or 6-10.

P.S. I am aware of the 08' Atlanta Falcons and its similar situation

Am I the only one here that doesn't think Cutler is very good? He's good for at least two unexplainable, stupid plays every game. 25 TD to 18 INT does not a Pro Bowler make, regardless of the voting last year. Typical big armed, small brained SEC quarterback. Except this one is a whiny bitch with *** hair and a primadonna attitude.
Let him go, especially if somebody is offering a first round pick. Fuck. No brainer if there ever was one.

thought he was going to be in a broncos jersey for years to come, surprised things turned out like this, maybe that draft class of qbs is cursed lol, they are all struggling in different ways but none are making the best impressions of themselves with their current teams.

I've been feeling this every since this surfaced last month. Det, Cle, TB, NYJ keep getting mentioned but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if SF makes a play late. Bet your ass Shanny is their coach next year if that happens.

Play GM for a second Jake....Would you send Gore, Shaun Hill and the #10 for Cutler straight up?

Ironman...McD & Bowlen have been saying for two weeks now that the Broncos are committed to Jay. Problem is...Cutler/Cook have this idea in their heads that 'committment' must mean 7 years/100 million or whatever. The Broncos would be stupid to give him a new deal this early into his existing contract. Next year? Maybe. You're right though...they could sit his ass and start docking him once mandatories start. But why? What if Jay decides to show up just to avoid the fines and be more of a little bitch? Why risk tearing apart your locker room like that? Especially for a rookie HC. Best to get the most you can and move on.

The Broncos schedule is BRUTAL next year....they are not doing any better than 8-8 with or without Jay.

As a Bronco fan...I'm pretty fired up to see how this shakes out going into the draft.
