I am inclined to go point by point, but instead will only point to the hostess's barb (2:20) that when Bush took office New Orleans was a "vital jewel of a city and there was a WTC." New Orleans has always been and will remain vital as a shipping port, but to call a city with 40% of it's residence living off the gov't teet a jewel is just preposterous. Oh did I forget to mention that mother nature caused the destruction and that taxpayers have now poured more money into NO. than in it's entire history? Blaming Bush for the destruction of NO. is like blaming Reagan for Mt. St. Helens.

Bush had absolutely no intention of protecting that +237 Billion surplus. If I am not mistaken, G.W's brand of conservatism theorizes we should not have a surplus at all.

Democrats taking credit for Newt's budget again. This gets especially cute when Democratic Senators who opposed such budget actually take credit for it. But they can, so they do. Lots of enablers out there.

Newt was the only man to actually reduce reduce spending in my lifetime. Even then, a reduction in federal spending was really only a decrease in the rate of growth.
