What's a Depression?

When only 10% of the country can run a motor car.

Pretty well thought out deal.

I had a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 coversion van. Needed 2 so I would have something to drive when the other one was in the shop.

Wow good deal.....Buy the Jeep if you take care of it,it will last you forever.
You could strip the bits off Jeep1 to keep Jeep2 going with this new 100% spare parts deal.
I would hold out for a full snap-on pro-toolkit before I signed up.

A strong dollar is good for US manufacturers who buy in materials from abroad and sell locally, not so good for exports tho.

I just bought a serious mega fishing reel for only $113, including overnight special delivery.

The cheapest I can find it for on the net in America is $140 with 3-5 days overland, and most sell at $150.

We used to have parity, but it costs almost 50% more from the USA now.

actually the dollar stuff isn't really necessary

all i mean is its gonna take less USD to buy stuff in america than it did in recent past

like the yen during their decade of deflation wasn't extremely strong vs. other currencies

and most of the deflation you see will be in the shit you don't need category and along with that deflation will come alot of job losses and other stuff related to selling those particular products

TVs, clothes, hotels, airfares, cars, computers, blah blah blah

shit like food, health insurence etc.....will probably stay flat or won't drop much

basically the "BS" cpi numbers will be dropping like a rock soon

people say they are "BS" because they include all the shit you don't need

There was a dealer here in texas a few years ago that was giving away Harley Davidsons with the purchase of a truck. Crazy

Until i see start seeing Toyota or Nissan or Honda doing this then you can scream Deflation to the hilt, but when its this shitty ass company, i call it ... a market correction.

:howdy:

and market correction or not its deflation regardless by definition

The price of gas (if that is what you referring to) has nothing to do with this (well not as much as your implying anyway). Its really a simple law of supply and demand really. They supply a set number each month, and the consumption has dried up because of both loan situations and because people want out of American cars and to some extent high gas as well...

But since gas has been cut in half of its highs...why are they still sellign them 2 for 1?

IMO the reality is, each car/truck costs the dealership at the end of each month, space is limited, need to sell sell sell...so they give these bitches away. The demand is far behind the supply i reckon.

that's deflation has little to do with "printing money"

inflation/deflation has to do with supply demand to a large degree

and in alot of areas right now supply is high and demand is shit so prices fall in a response

and you are seeing deflation aka you need less dollars to buy the same goods than you did in the recent past
