I post here in hopes of spreading some good info I may have come across and prolly only have a few I consider friends here. I'm misunderstood to much to have many, but one guy that can hang with me anytime is my boy crazy. If we ever got together him and I could hang like wet clothes.<><>

And crazy don't talk any shit in here anyways. He's way too cool for that!

Hell, whenever the Leafs STILL come to town at the Joe the leaf fans come out of the woodwork from across the border. I often think to myself.....how did they let all these whacko's past the turnstiles? I know the Wings draw a big following everywhere they go in the States but the Leaf fans with their Palmateer and Potvin and Cujo jerseys are just too much for us Detroiters.

And they gorilla their way to all the good empty lower bowl seats. Which means I'm surrounded by them for a couple hours or more.^^:) :)

Whats that supposed to mean?

Half of all the Nhl teams have atleast 50% Canadians on them!!

don't ever assume that the US is the better when it comes to hockey

Fact is that the USA Teams are better in hockey than the Canadian, no matter who is on those teams(<)<

14 years for a Canadian NHL team to finally win one again. Canadian owners don't like to reach in their pockets, now do they!!:grandmais

trouble with canadain teams is that they have loyal fans that love the game and will support them no matter what

leaf fans will pay $500 for a ticket no matter what the record lol

Canadian owners know this and take advantage. Why woould leaf ownership spend mega money on players when the building will be full with second rate players

Carolina would have 3000 fans at games if they didn't win. Look at Atlanta and Florida...they get 10,000 fans at games and can;t give tickets away

OHL teams in ontario draw bigger crowds and tickets are more expensive lol

Fact is, comparing USA hockey to Canadian hockey, well, there's no comparison, sorry--- note, at BOTH the jr and pro level

btw, your beloved Penguins?? their top 10 season point leaders:
1. canadians- 6
2 Euros- 4
3. Americans- 0

good grief

If i were you I'd leave that one alone. We covered this subject a while back and I was humbled by the fact that Canadians embrace their sport very tightly. It is nowhere near the dominance it was 30 years ago as today 51% of the players are Canadian [24% European,25% American] where it once could be said that figure was probably in the 90% bracket. Last years draft produced the 1st time no.1 and no.2 picks were both Canadian born since 2003 draft. The Canadians players still dominate and are arguably where the games roots are from. But as time passes those numbers are declining significantly. And as Vancouver Fan i believe told me. It's the only sport we have were we can call our own. Let us at least enjoy it for now. Or something to that effect.

And FYI...at least for now. The Montreal franchise is owned by an American.

And i'm not sure where the cheap Canadian owners comment comes from...but every team but Toronto was up against the cap except $1000 or 2. Toronto was $5000 under but had every reason not to until they put together a better team. And they dumped payroll at the deadline so they were prolly close as well.

It's not just the Canadian teams. The Detroit Lions have instilled the same philosophy for the last 40 odds years. If they ever won the Super bowl they'd burn the rest of the city down the next day in celebration.

yes of course, as today the NHL has become the planets very best hockey league, undisputed. 30 yrs ago NHL teams weren't looking for the WORLDS best talent (money issues, political issues in Russia, etc) they were looking within N America . HENCE, the greater % of Canadian born players at said time. Salming, Fetisov, Stastny, etc, eventually the flood gates opened, and the NHL turned to Europe to steal their top talent--- dramatically improving its product. Talent THAT WAS THERE 30 YRS AGO AS WELL, just not tapped

in other words Canada's perceived 'dominance' of % NHL players 30 yrs ago was only because the monies/energy wasn't directed to other areas of the world where the game is/was played at a top level. We were not bringing those folks over.......we are now, obviously.

Canada's dominance at the World Jr's is evidence she shall remain a power at this sport for some time, :). Going for 6 in a row next yr.

That is something the Canadian fans overlooked. USA owners never really gave a crap, because they had other investments in other top notched sports, which the American public loved. Hockey was always fourth rated sport as far as American fans were concerned, below Football, Basketball and Baseball.

Hockey is all that Canadians really had to cheer for. I should know, because when I played for the Hamilton TigerCats back in 1981, we barely made any money at all. $7 a day in training camp, which made most of the American players quit to play semipro in the States, where we made much more money and also got a paycheck every week for babysitting the owners companies workers!! I worked as a foreman for a fencing company and made $600 a week under the table back then.

With out turning this into another debate, Canadiens will always be the best NHL players overall.

Yes there will be pretty good players from all around the world but never better than us. Simply put we have way more passion as a whole, going from the east french speaking through ontario and across to the westen provinces. We are born with hockey in our vains and from early age are taught to go through brick walls if it means a win. I've coached teams from 6 year olds through select and Mthl. We played torneys against teams from everywhere including many overseas teams. Although they may be better athletes even at that early age, and watching many of their practices always left doubts in my mind that there is no way we could beat them. Yet we often found ways to win. Why cause as a group they desire it.

Best players ever are Canadians, I'm sure there will be no argument there, and I'll go a step further. It will always be that way. It's not all about the money, WE HAVE THE BIGGEST PRIDE when it comes to hockey.

Your arguments are no less than those made by many now a days that the USA is no longer the best in the NBA. and they point out international losses. GIVE ME A BREAK, believe what you want but the best hockey players are still Canadian just like the best basketball players are American

Now I don't hate..... after all the better the competition the stronger it will make us
