i am actually retitling a thread posted by roadreeler to show the truth of those stupid bush tax cuts that people always claim will create jobs.

I am still asking the question. If cutting taxes like many morons on the right wing in this forum have argued, creates jobs. Then why the hell are people losing their jobs instead?

Where are the freaking jobs?:think2:

Democrats caused the housing crash?

I know bill Clinton signed the commodities and futures modernization act of 2000.

Wanna guess who was the author of this bill?

Wanna guess who had this bill passed late christmas in the dark of night..(same assholes who passed the internet gambling bill again in the dark of night by slipping into another bill)

Yes sonny! you got it.. It was the dumb ass republicans!

Wanna guess which president vetoed any efforts to close the enron loop holes and prevent all this wild ass gambling that resulted in all that bad paper hounding the banks right now?

Same fools who were crying for deregulation!

Do your homework bucky then come back with better excuses than this crap!

and when Clintons administration brought this country into a surplus he did it with the help of bipartisanship by getting bills passed with the cooperation of parties from both sides of the isle.

Republicans always believe they can do it on their own even though the shit we're dealing with now is a DIRECT result of George Bush's work the entire time he's been in office.

Are businesses more likely to grow and expand if they have more money or if they have less money?

Are employers more likely to hire new employees if they have more money or if they have less money?

Are new technologies and thus new jobs more likely to be encouraged if businesses have more money for R & D or less money?

If businesses grow, expand, hire & research, is that good for the economy or bad?

Conversely, can anyone tell me what government program is run efficiently? Do you really believe elected officials control the economy? Do you not know how much money is wasted by our government? They literally flush money down the toilet in DC.

It's not rocket science people, it's common sense.

Stupid thread. TO think that is the ONLY factor is really weak.

My bottom line is this: A rich person will use there money better than the Federal Govt.

Whether, it's to create jobs, invest, give to charity, blow on a new boat...ALL are better than the Govt pissing it away.

The dems have killed more jobs.

Lets see. They make crazy CAFE rules on the auto industry to help conserve oil. Yet they have stood in the way at every chance to drill our own oil. HMMMMM

Frank and company wanted to feel all warm and fuzzy inside so the pressured the morgage companies to loan (give) money to people that would never have gotten a loan in the first place.

Lets just get back to the facts please.

Oh who signed NAFTA????????????/ Another Dem.

Typical liberals trying to get involved where they had no business. Let the market set the price and what kind of car is made.

I love these UAW idiots up here that vote themselves out of a job. LMAO @ these morons.

Don't you remember the mid-term elections after Clinton was first elected... the headlines read (verbatim) "I hear you" as the dems lost control of congress for the first time in Idunno how long. The economy was flailing until after that event. Now every dem wants to give Clinton credit when actually it was a Republican senate and house that forced the economic reforms down his throat. At least he was smart enough to acknowledge it unlike the rest of the revisionist dems in here.

When is the last time this country has ever flourished economically with a Democratic house and Senate?

Wilheit, I really wish people were given more of an education in economics so they could realize the things you are writing about here. The people of the US voted for the very person who will harm the economics more than the previous administration.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Barack and his Democrat minions in Congress will cause the economy to further sink and the public will vote more Dems out in 2010.

We are becoming ever more a country of people who believe in entitlement. That always leads to socialism. I don't see it getting better any time soon.

BO can't do anything wrong to the economy for at least 4 years because the Dems have big bad Bush to blame everything on for at least that long.

Jobs are created when there is a demand for work/products due to economic growth. If a company cannot make the product here in the States with an expected profit margin then they either make it elsewhere or let someone else make it.

Why can Toyota make a truck in San Antonio, Texas that is 90% American made and still make a profit? There is no State income tax in Texas and there is no UAW union. The line workers are paid the same approximate wages as the Big Three pay. In this instance, lack of burdensome taxes is a key part of the equation that is creating jobs.

Obviously, taxes are part of the equation, but not the only variable hurting American jobs.

Regulations increase costs on our companies.

Worker's Compensation costs are sick, especially in CT.

Union wages and benefits are now making it tough to compete globally, this is especially true in our auto industry where the big 3's expenses are more than their Asian competition.

Our energy policy is archaic, and there is no relief in sight as Obama looks to be going backwards again.

Now government is not our only problem, private industry shares the blame, but Government is very much part of the problem.

More taxes and more government is no part of any solution.

Quality post Willie. If you just give some of the tax money back and don't fix the rest of it, you really accomplish very little.

The best thing BO can do for our country (and I believe he is capable in this regard) is to give Reaganesque speeches with a positive outlook for our future. Helping Americans to feel good about our country and the path the economy is headed down. Higher consumer confidence will lead to increased spending which will create economic growth and all that comes with it.
