After putting the series on hiatus earlier this year, the Buffalo Bills terminated their agreement Wednesday with Rogers Communications to play one game per season in Toronto.

The Bills played six regular season games and two preseason games at the Rogers Centre from 2008-2013 but announced in March that they would not play a game in Canada this season.

Tom Szczerbowski/Getty ImagesThe Buffalo Bills had played eight games -- including two preseason games -- at the Rogers Centre in Toronto since 2008.

"When we put the series on pause last year, the ultimate goal was to get to this point and it's taken some time to come to a final conclusion," Bills president Russ Brandon said during his weekly appearance Wednesday on WGR 550.

The series had faced dwindling attendance and concerns from Buffalo-area fans about losing a game at Ralph Wilson Stadium each season.

"In hindsight, I know there's a lot of noise about moving games up north and I understand that completely," Brandon said. "But when we look at what it has done for us regionally and what is has done for us back at Ralph Wilson Stadium, obviously southern Ontario has become a very large market for us as far as fans coming to our games at Ralph Wilson Stadium. That has been a positive."

The Bills last played in Toronto -- which is about 100 miles from Buffalo -- in December 2013, losing in overtime to the Atlanta Falcons.

"We felt after the Atlanta game last year that it was time to move away from the series ultimately," Brandon said. "I think from a football and from an organizational perspective, that is what we were working towards and we're very pleased that it's come to a final conclusion."

Time to move the Bills to TO full time. Bigger and classier fan base. Sabres to Hamilton while they're at it, nicer arena

Downtown Toronto is not a good place for football. No where to tailgate, every restaurant is booked solid and Rogers sucks. Should build our own stadium outside of the downtown core with a parking lot around the arena for tailgating and have the subway or lrt (whatever the hell they end up doing) going there too so u can get trashed and not got nailed for dui :) Don't think the rest of canada would care much for the nfl. they like cfl for some reason.

You're an idiot

Actually, pal, you're the idiot. Why do they throw Leafs jerseys on the rink at Sabres game? Because 90% of the fans are from Toronto. Same goes for the Bills. Upstate NY is a feral backwater, stands would be empty if the Canuckleheads weren't there, and trust me NObody goes to Buffalo for the ambiance

You hear me talkin' hillbilly boy??

"Girgensons scored a short-handed goal in the first period and added a highlight-reel breakaway tally in the third, quieting a Toronto-heavy crowd that delayed the game several times by tossing Maple Leafs jerseys and beverages onto the ice." Associated Press Nov 15th

Buffalo is a terrific hockey town. Lots of families with kids playing/enjoying the great game. An established minor hockey system with their elite program now part of SCTA (Oakville, Hamilton, Halton, Niagara...).

There is NO doubt that their professional teams (NHL, NFL) get significant aid from Canadians

here's a good read

So I looked it up, 15-20% of attendees at Bills games are Canadian. So if you lost 20% of your crowd, do you not think that would make it look rather empty? IDIOT.
