Not a bad coaching move. Look at Polittes era and whip this year. Plan was to go righty-lefty against A-Rod,Matsui and Giambi and then bring in Hermanson if needed which it was. Hermanson gave up a shot to Williams but right at 1st baseman.

Absolutely should be on this list... Ned Yost is down 1-0 with Ben Sheets at the plate, 1st and 3rd, 1 out... Sheets is batting exactly .000 this season (0-35)... Sheets has thrown about 70 pitches through 7 innings and 6-7-8 is coming up for the Cards... conventional wisdom says to pinch hit with likely Wes Helms, a guy hitting almost .300... but I don't care WHO you bring off the bench at that point... but someone hitting better than .000! Yost has Sheets sacrifice the runner to 2nd, making it 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs, the next guy makes out on 2 pitches, and then Sheets comes out and gives up 2 runs in the top of the 8th... stellar managing... any idiot even out of Atlanta's bullpen could've done that... and I bet they hit better than 0-35 collectively too...

Here's one for today

Josh Towers is winning 3-2 headed to B8 @ Yankees

has thrown 71 pitches - 50 of them strikes

out he goes - in comes Gas Can Scott "Suck-my-D*ck" Weis who walks the 8th hitter, 800-year-old Tino Matinez who is then replaced by Tony Womack on the bases

to show that was NO fluke - "Suck-my-Dick" Weis goes 3-0 on Cano who then bunts over Womack so the top of the lineup can get at least 2 shots to get the tying run home

Unless Towers is hurt (and if he is - sorry John Gibbons - my apologies) WHY take out Towers after only 71 pitches, 50 of them strikes?

Phils Manager should be on this list. In top 5th Giants intentionally walk #8 hitter to load the bases for pitcher Lidle. Lidle is a career .200 hitter which is good for a pitcher but there are better hitters on bench so why not pinch hit with bases loaded unless you're hoping to get additional innings out of Lidle. Instead they bat Lidle, he makes an out and then they bring in a new pitcher to start next inning. Seems pretty dumb to me but I'm not complaining, I'm on the Giants.

Reds UP 3-2 headed to B8

Ortiz gets the first 2 hitters out and has only thrown 97 pitches. he is a righty and here comes right handed hitter Marcus Giles

so of course Jerry Narron take out Ortiz and replaces him with Dave Weathers who gives up a triple and game tying double and now we are tied at 3 headed to B9

great move Narron - hope you are gone at season's end - IDIOT!

if you start watching Mets games you're gonna have to get the rx to add more bandwith for Willie Randolph's bad managing. Although he somehow managed not to screw up today's game.

Nats UP 1-0 in B8

Livan has thrown 109 pitches and is due up w/runners on 1st and 2nd w/2 out. Frank lets him hit - and what do you know - Livan singles in a run to make it 2-0 then Byrd clears the bases making it 5-0 with a double

congrats Frank - this moved work

BUT

talk about Bonehead moves!

You PH for Livan because in T9 you bring in the league leader in saves - Chad Cordero

NEVER confuse successful moves and bonehead moves - in this case they were the same but still a BONEHEAD move

If Livan makes an out and the Nats are up 1-0 headed to T9 and they lose the game 2-1 we are GRILLING Frank - and rightfully so

and Frank leaves in Livan to pitch T9 and what a shock - a tired Livan (high pitch count and running the bases) gives up a 2-run BOMB to Cabrera

Yo, Frank - time to get Cordero in the game so you can get this one over in time to get the "Early Bird Special" at Coco's!

he brought in Stanton but at least he got out Livan - a few hitters too late
