Hopefully the team will use this as a rallying point. Coach Weber says his mom would have wanted him to go out and do his job. It's gonna be tough though. I assume the funeral will be maybe Monday or Tuesday. It can't help but distract from some tourney prep. Then again, the first game doesn't really require all that much for the Illini and I'm sure the assistants will pick up the slack. This is a veteran team that should be able to handle this.

In a strange way though, Illinois might be better served losing tomorrow and getting Sunday off. But, it's hard to see them losing to Minnesota unless they really want to.

Very sad...his mother was at the game today...so it was totally unexpected. Very poor timing, too. This is the time of Weber's life, and his mother has to die now:sad3:

His mother was a big fan of the team too. She was 4 weeks away from seeing them win a championship. They will win it in her honor!
