Butch Davis is no longer the coach of the Cleveland Browns.
The Cleveland Browns report Davis resigned Monday night.
The Browns have been 24-36 overall in the past three seasons, with a 3-8 record this season.
Team spokeswoman Lisa Levine says Browns president John Collins will have 2:00 p.m. news conference at their headquarters in Berea.
Either offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie or defensive coordinator Dave Campo is expected to take over as interim coach for the Browns, who host the defending Super Bowl champion New
England Patriots on Sunday.
The Browns are in last place in the AFC North.

I read that he resigned, was not fired...
Leads me to believe he may want the Florida job as well..
If he waited til the end of the season, then the Gators would most likely have found someone else....this way he is a viable candidate....
He certainly knows the state of Florida, and recruiting there, would probably be a good fit.....

he himself built the miami team into champions after years of suspensions and violations, then left
he left for clev and miami won the championship that year and again top team yearly
if he stayed in miami, he would of been the top college coach as we speak now and would of had everyone kissing his ass
