denver at new england
before i even get started with the x's and 0's, lets talk about the line, and where the money is going. At the begining of the week the patriots were 3.5 favs, and by game time tonight, they are 3.0 favs. All the money is being bet by the public on denver. 90% moneyline is on denver, 60% ats is on denver, and 53% is on the under. I just dont understand how the book made the patriots a favorite at all. This game in my opinion should been even. So now let's breakdown this game, and see if this is another vegas trap game. Both these teams are not playing up to their level of playoff talent. I keep telling you that the pats defense is old and slow, and their secondary is terrible. Without brady at qb, do you really expect qb cassel to make the big plays when then need them?. On the oyther hand, denver is no great shakes, and are kinda similar in their struggles. All denver knows how to do is score points on opponents lousy defenses. When they face a decent defense they fold. Look at denver's past schedule up to present, and compare their offensive input vs poor defenses, oppossed to their offensive input when they play capable defenses. In this matchup however, the broncos offense, faces a lousy pat defense. Denver qb cutler will have at least two of his top receivers in the game with royal and scheffler. The denver firepower is there, and the patriot defense is not.in addition, when you look at the coaching matchups, denver's shanahan is 5-1 vs pats bellichick . All six of those games, brady started for the patriots. Now the inept qb cassel takes over without a running game, and will not have enough offense to really challenge denver's suspect defense. Although this looks like a trap, and the public is betting heavy on denver, i cannot take the patriots as a favorite. I will also jump on the bronco bandwagon, since they are the better team on paper, and out on the playing field.
recommendation: Expect a high scoring game, take denver plus the points.
