As most of you know, I posted many plays using a couple different systems and had some good success pocketing about 90 units plus I made another $20K or so with some very nice parlays. Well that cooled off so I took a break. During that break, I focused on capping games rather than trying to come up with a gimmick or system. So far, I am documented at 4-1. For tracking purposes, I've decided to have one thread with all plays for the rest of the year.

My method is simple. Cap games and select the one, maybe two, games per day that I feel are the best and play them. It's been working so far and I hope it continues.

I have two goals here. My first goal is my minimum goal. I am hoping to make another $10K by the end of the MLB season. My real goal, or my "make me very happy" goal is to make another $15K by the end of the season.

I play each game "to win" $1000.

8/18 Play:

Seattle -135 $1350/$1000

King Felix has been money all season. Since June 5, the Mariners have lost only 2 games that he has started. He is actually better on the road posting a gaudy 1.96 ERA in road parks. He has faced Detroit twice this year recording wins both times. The last time the M's lost a road game that Felix started was back on May 14 and he only has one posted road loss all season.

Porcello has been OK, but his record is deceiving. He has gotten a lot of run support and although he beat the M's the last time they played, he allowed 5 runs in just 5 innings.....and his opponent wasn't Felix. In his two appearances against the M's this year, his ERA is 4.50 and his overall home ERA is 4.92. You better believe that if he allows 5 runs tomorrow, that'll be more than enough for Felix.

Look for Seattle to carry the momentum from Sunday's win against the Yanks into the game.

That's a nice play, I'm in. What do you think about the Texas/Min game and Beckett starting for the Red Sox too?

I don't like Boston only because of the slump they've been in. Not sure how they will be mentally. It's possible with them losing wild card lead they may begin to try to force things which never ends well. On the other hand......it's Beckett on the mound and you always have a chance with that.

I looked very hard at Texas. Only thing I don't like is Feldman gives up a lot of runs at times. The Twins can score and I worry that against a pitcher like Feldman, they'll score enough to get the W. I can't take the Twins because they've been in a nasty little slump. If I were to take a side, I'd take Texas in this one but to me, Seattle is just a better play to put my money on.

Can't believe we lost because of what I consider terrible managing. Why oh why wouldn't you at least let Felix start the 8th inning?? Only one run and four hits through 7. He ended the 7th with a 1-2-3 inning and you don't even let him start the 8th? We win this game if Felix goes out in the 8th. No doubt in my mind. I called everything right......except terrible decisions by the manager. Dammmit.

Royals -135 $1350/$1000

Going more against Contreras than with Greinke. Contreras has been dreadful with an ERA of over 10 in August. Combine that with KC being able to put up runs and it makes for a fairly easy KC win IMO. Greinke has an ERA of about 1.6 in three starts against CWS this season and I have confidence that he can hold them again.

At least you were right about Texas. I had them last night and again tonight with Feldman. i can't believe they have the second best home wins behind the Yankees. I said last week that they are finished and then i go and bet them two nights in a row. What they need is another Ryan and that ain't happening.

Laying wood on the road with KC is a tough proposition imo regardless of who is on the mound for CWS. I hope you hit your play , but who is KC to lay $$$ on the road to anyone??

The fact that the line is what it is made me love this play even more. I'm pretty sure Vegas is thinking and hoping the public thinks this same way. After all, KC can't win the series vs. CWS in Chicago. Wow, CWS are plus money against the lowly Royals, easy money here. Add in the fact that it is the only game in that time slot so everyone will have some action on it. I know these things don't decided games, but I've found with baseball, you sometimes have to really look at the lines and ask yourself why it is what it is.

8/20 Play:

Going with SF -140 $1400/$1000

I know Cain just lost to Cincy not too long ago, but it doesn't take away from the fact that he is a great pitcher. I'm going to trust my money with him on the mound going against a pitcher who is average at best.

The Reds are just in a free fall right now and SF is staying atop the wild card chase. I'd be shocked if Harang beat the Giants and Cain twice in the same month. Anything is possible, but I really love this play.
