63-49 +06.44 units (Match-Ups)
30-22 +12.01 units (Props)
07-36 +00.91 units (Outrights)

Total: +19.36 units

Was pumped about getting some action on the race today...til I saw the lines. My fave 5 was Hamlin, Martin, Kahne, Gordon and Montoya but they really inflated the price on those guys.
Hamlin has stood out in my mind all week and practice sure didn't sway me from that.

Match-Ups

3.00 units Denny Hamlin (-130) over Kyle Busch (@bodog)
Lost my big wager last night in the N'wide race hope this one does better.
Hamlin has always been strong on flat racetracks, one of the best. Should have more wins than what hes got but has had dismal luck. Things have been turning for him lately putting together 4 Top 5 runs in 5 races. Really think he has a good shot here today, had the best overall lap average in Happy Hour yesterday.

1.50 units Jeff Gordon (+135) over Jimmie Johnson (@thegreek)
JG is somehow flying under the radar, you're not really hearing a lot from him, (maybe because he's not producing wins) but he is still 2nd in points and a consistent Top 5, has three 2nd place finishes in 5 races. 3rd and 5th last two at Indy.
Johnson is always a threat to win but like Gordon and the price here.

1.50 units Ryan Newman (-130) over Greg Biffle (@5dimes)
Hope Newman got his mojo back with a 6th place run at Chicago. Was fastest in HH yesterday. Biffle has been in a funk for a while, don't want him to find his way out today.

1.00 David Reutimann (+130) over Brian Vickers (@5dimes)
Based this play on two things, think there is some value in the line and Reutimann's performance at Pocono where he finished 3rd.

Props

1.00 unit Kasey Kahne (-115) under 8.5 (@5dimes)
He has been on a roll lately(7.25 avg L4) and when hes running at the finish at Indy he is always around the Top 5

1.00 unit Juan Pablo Montoya (-115) under 8.5 (@5dimes)
Another hot one (6 Top 10's L8, only one finish worst than 12th)

Outrights
Usually play very small on these but going a little larger today :drink:

2.00 units Denny Hamlin (+1000) @thegreek
1.50 units Mark Martin (7-1) @bodog
1.00 unit Jeff Gordon (+1000) @5dimes
0.50 unit Kasey Kahne (+1500) @thegreek

Good luck everybody!

ATP, played him in a prop...all the favorable match-ups had inflated lines and would have played him to win but the one thing that scared me off of it was his overall Happy Hour avg was only 18th...still think he may have a shot at a Top 5 maybe better but just didn't like it as much after that

The NASCAR article I read said Jeff Gordon could tie the Indy record for most wins with Michael Shuemaker if he "Kisses The Bricks" and Matt Kennseth could become only the third driver to win the Daytona 500 and Allstate 400. Mark Martin has never won, but at this stage in his career, a trip to victory circle would be "One For The Books".

I don't want to speak to soon but it looks like we may have gotten lucky on that whole Hamlin situation...

the way i look at it is that we were unlucky to be in that position to start with, really think Denny was better than the 18...but glad it ended up the way it did

Fans really must have gotten their money's worth in those last twenty laps with JJ and MM dueling fighting it out tooth and claw.

Ouch......tough day. I've been pretty good lately at picking against the Winner in Matc-ups myself.

I've picked against Mark Martin in his lat 2 wins and did it again to day with Jimmie Johnson.
