Pirates bring in stone cold rookie in one run game in 8th. I see Pirates are starting another 'long-range' youth movement. This team has had more failed 5 year plans than Josef Stalin. Many of their other youth movement players are collecting pensions(but for baseball) by now from their 13(soon to be 14 year) year losing streak. Phillies historic 16 year streak is in jeopardy. It falls in 2009.
Same old Bucs - no clutch hits and poor managing
Top of the 6th Bucs load the bases 2 outs and the manager lets Ollie Perez bat (he strikes out). Bottom of the inning Perez strikes out the 1st hitter then strikes out the 2nd but the batter advances on a passed ball. So Jim Tracy pulls Perez. If you are going to pull him after 2 batters why not pitch hit for him in the top of the inning? I swear I dont know what these managers are thinking sometimes.
