You know, sometimes as a fan sitting at home watching these games I think to myself "what the hell are these managers thinking?"... I mean, I can see not pinch hitting if this is even the 6th inning... but in the 7th when I don't think you've had a runner past 2nd base before this point in the game and showing no signs of getting any better... I don't care how bad your pen is or how used they are, you've got to try to win the game... so what if Sheets throws a complete game and you lose or if you lose 19-1? You still lost... you've gotta at least try to win games.
There was absolutely no reason for Sheets to bat for himself in that spot. Should have been a pinch hitter there. What a bad managing move. Just goes to show you, that a manager can only lose games for a team. Very rarely does a manager win a ballgame for a team. Once again, a terrible move. :finger:
