Favre did it to himself. "I'm done, I don't have the passion anymore, I'm ready to go home and spend time with my family." One month later, I know you've made all of your personel decisions this offseason (drafting 2 QB's) based on the fact that I was going to retire, but now I want to play again. Talk about throwing the organization that treated you great all these years under the bus. Rodgers will do fine and they will be a playoff team with him as the QB. Maybe the best thing for the Packers is having someone who manages the game and isn't looking to make the spectacular play.
Brett fucked up when they were going to annouce he was coming back at the end of March and then changed his mind. I'm sure that's when the Packers staff had a meeting to state they were done with Brett at that point. No matter what happened in the future.
