I think the question was answered today in flying colors. Leading his team to victory via 34 pts, no less on the road, against the #1 defense in the league ?!??! Paleeeeeeeeeeeese. Fishhead was on the money the whole time. And no the Jets haven't won shit yet, but they have doubled their win total of last year .. they have scored 50 more pts then last years entire season ( and still have 5 gms to spare) #2 in the league in Pts per game by the way. Honestly it's a stat I don't think I'd ever associate with a gang green team. 2nd most pts in the league or better is reserved for teams like the Chargers or the Colts or New England right ? Certainly not a lackluster blue collar team like the Jets ? Remember Rich Kotite, I do?

Yes, I was born in 1972 ... 3 years after Nameths prediction, and 39 years after the Jets last SB. Super Bowl this year? Most likely not, but I never felt so good when any of the Jets last 10 Qbs were in charge of moving the rock. Never saw them win on the road against cosecutively against other AFC powerhouses. Favre has brought something to NY that hasn't been seen for a long while. Confidence, familiarity, fearlessness. Brett has played every team, every stadium, has seen almost perhaps every style of play the league has offered during his tenure. (265+ games started) - Ill say it right now , for a QB in the NFL that record won't be beaten. WILL NOT ... I realize P Manning has over 165+ going ... He wont do it. Not gonna happen.

Elite in this league still? - DEFintly Elite in this league still.. E-L-I-T-E. Completing 70 % of his passes, putting up 34 against the #1 defense in the league. First place in division after a 4-12 year ( with basically the same core team ..., true Jenkins has kicked ass, but without Bretts succuess those breaks between possesions are a little shorter ..)
(In a previous thread regarding Favre a week ago - I said it then to btw-YES ELITE)

FISH - Some of these posters wouldn't know greatness if "it/he" beat the shit out of them, left them stranded, fucked their girl friend dry and even then came back the next day to pick them up ...
When Favre is gone, We will still have another sure fire HOF QB playing in the league ,difference - he happens to be a first class prick.
Brett Favre lived by his arm and eventually will die from it.
But Hey Jets , 8-3 ....... FIRST PLACE in Division ....I'll take it. Hell Collingsworth even reluctantcly called them the best team in the AFC and a few years from now when Favres sipping suds in Canton with Elway and sharing sack stories with Montana ( I'm sure the Strahan farce will be a highlight) All us Jet fans who suffered Testaverde, Bollinger, Carter, Fielder, Lucas, Foley , Mirer, Odonnel , and yes even Mr. 20yd max pass Pennington ...Can all share a toast to Mr. Favre, even if the Jets faulter later in the year ( and they usually do ...) Us fans, us diehards , can at least say ... God Dammit , Brett Favre played for us , and he played hard, to win. Fukking A , that makes me feel good. A lot of my friends recognized the Jets after last week but were still apprehensive about giving fair credit to how good they really were. Well I think after a decisive wire to wire win against the leagues only unbeaten team, The Jets have shown they are here to play, make noise, and be a threat when the playoffs come around ...(and any asshole who says , they haven't even made it yet ... Ill book that shit , six ways to sunday.) Game on.

Totally fucken agree.

It's a great feeling to be a Jets fan. Tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day here in NYC. Drink my coffee, read the paper and smile... satisfaction like this is what i live for. Like you said, win or lose in the playoffs... this season brought me tons of joy.

Brett came up with a QB rating of 48 today with two picks. Seneca Wallace carded a 104 rating with no picks and a TD pass in the 13-3 win that really makes next weeks Dolphins at Jets game interesting, especially if New England can win at Buffalo. Not to mention where Baltimore stands in the AFC Wildcard race.

How did Brett ever win a superbowl? That will always baffle me.

As a Jets fan, I just don't get it. You bring in the gunslinger, who you would think is going to make the offense more vertical, but you have him running a dink and dunk offense for really the entire season.

Meanwhile, you get rid of one of the best dink and dunkers in the league and watch him possibly lead his new team to the division title.

I don't know whether Favre has a bad arm (he's been underthrowing tons of passes the past few weeks) or the coaches are just idiots.

Either way......same ole' Jets.

Favre will choke away every playoff opportunity Pumpkin and the rest of the Jet followers thought they had... Now you know why the Packers didn't kiss his ass and asked him for the 8,000th time to please, please come back ... I see he's already playing the "woe is me" card. See ya later, Brett baby.
