I've always liked Favre and have much respect for him (although I don't admit it and act like i dont) but his comments in this article are right on. I like that he is calling out his best receiver.

Drew ROsenhaus is a buster and shouldn't be representing these players.

lol honor your contracts??

contracts arent gauranteed, players get cut from every team, every year in the midst of their contract.. owners dont honor contracts...why should players?

give me a break..

Most selfish thing in sports. Basically these guys are saying..."i'm better than all my teammates" completely turning his back on teammates. You have one good year so you think you should get paid more than some guy that gets 10 catches less than you.
It's always been that way in the NFL and players know that they can be cut. If you are a player like Javon Walker or Terrell Owens , you're not going to get cut! Plain and simple. Honor the contract you signed. You guys sticking up for these selfish players are ridiculous!

viking have the intelligence to look at it from the other side, not just as a fan.

nfl avg career is less than 3 years. contracts arent gauranteed. if you were considered overpaid for your value to the team..you would be cut, and not owed a dime...or forced to restructure...

so its ok for owners to play this game...but not the players ?

It's part of the NFL Players Association agreement with the Owners. So YES it is perfectly fine for an owner to cut someone. These are all cases of pure greed and selfishness. Sounds like most will lose as well. You as a player know that you are not guaranteed a contract. If you are not going to honor you contract don't sign it, plain and simple!
You do what is good for the team, not yourself. These guys make more than plenty money. You hold out, you're saying screw you guys, i don't care about the rest of you.

What really makes me ill is that this always seems to be receivers pulling this crap. For God's sake thay are maybe involved in 15% of the plays, rarely block and are just concerned about getting on SportsCenter.

Noreaga - When the players want to put up $500 million for a franchise, then they can guarantee all the contracts. Players should all sign 1-year deals if they want market value every year.

I would never expect that from Walker. This is a game they should love. Also this is Favre's last year so Walker should be aware of that and make an even bigger impact this year.

I have a bad feeling about the Packers this year. More like a 8-8 year.. or less. Vikings will step up and so will the Bears if they stay healthy.
