Just came across the telly.
RIP Tony you were a great American.

Great American indeed.
Came across as a level headed man, seemed to me he was in good shape, shocked to hear this.

Former Bush spokesman Tony Snow dies of cancer

By DOUGLASS K. DANIEL – 12 minutes ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — Fox News is reporting that conservative commentator and former White House press secretary Tony Snow has died of cancer.
Snow, 53, was a broadcaster for Fox News Channel and Fox News Radio when he replaced Scott McClellan as President Bush's press secretary in May 2006.
Snow served just 17 months as press secretary, a tenure interrupted by his second bout with cancer. He resigned as Bush's chief spokesman six months later, in September 2007, citing a need to earn more money. He then joined CNN as a commentator.
Snow brought partisan zeal and the skills of a seasoned performer to the task of explaining and defending the president's policies. He was popular at the White House and beyond for cheerfully sparring with reporters.

Anyone else remember when Snow said that girls couldn't go to school under Saddam Hussein? Or how he participated in the Swift Boating of John Kerry? Or made up lies as he tried to defend Bush's "service" in the National Guard?

Just because he's dead is no reason to grant him sainthood. He was a lying, deceitful pawn of the traitorous Bush Administration. If there was a Hell, he would surely be burning in it.

Classy post from the armpit of the nation. We wouldn't expect anything less from an arrogant ignorant far left Darwiniac.

The joke will be on you once you realize you actually have a soul and it's headed straight to...

That's typical Lib behavior. We all knew Russert was a Lib, but I didn't hear any Conservatives rip him when he died. Quite the contrary, many pointed out that despite his believes he tried to be fair.

Snow was a solid conservative, who did a good job under Bush.

Yes, koidog you are absolutely right.

Tim Russert was also a great American. He wrote two of the best books on fatherhood ever written -- "Big Russ & Me" and "Wisdom of Our Fathers".

Tim was an old school Democrat -- he loved America and rooted for America. Many of you may not know this, but Tim donated $10,000 to Sean Hannity's Freedom Concert but told Sean to keep it confidential because he didn't want it to be politicized. That was the kind of classy guy Tim Russert was.

Although they came from different sides of the political aisle, both Tim and Tony were All-Americans in the truest sense. Their patriotism was quiet but deep. They were great husbands, fathers, community leaders and NEVER ONCE rooted against their country for cheap partisan gain.

Like I said, Tim Russert was an OLD SCHOOL Democrat and so unlike the 'new' far loony left: Michael Moore dunderheads like DEAC who are DESTROYING my country. :puke1:

Russert wasn't an asshole. Tony Snow was. Now he's a dead asshole.

But he's still an asshole.

The notion that Russert was a liberal is absurd (and yes I'm aware that he worked for Daniel Patrick Moynihan 30 years go). The reason why so many GOPers and conservatives got all weepy over his death was that he had morphed into a reliable dispenser of GOP-themed talking points and could always be counted on to hold Democrats to a much tougher standard than GOPers. There's a reason why VP Cheney considered MTP their best forum on Sunday mornings.

As for Snow, he was what he was - a GOP propagandist from start to finish. No shame in that. At least we knew where he was coming from as opposed to Russert who hid behind his working class Buffalo bullshit while spewing the GOP/GE corporate line.

Condolences to Snow's family but anyone calling him a "great American" has a pretty warped sense of greatness - and America.

Very well said and worthy of a bump. It's nice to know there are people that are capable of seeing the big picture.

I have always loved when Libs kill Fox for being Conservative yet get defensive when it's called out that most of the rest of the press is Liberal.

Of Course Russert was a Lib. The reason the White House liked MTP is because he was fair and tough on BOTH sides. Something most of the rest of the media doesn't do.

And most Lib arguments do NOT hold up when they get grilled. That's why you must insist Russert was unfair.

Don't disrespect the dead dude.
Bad character trait.

If he didn't like him I don't have a problem with that. I always find it funny when people look to say good things about a person only because they died.

If they are undeserving of respect in life, why grant it post-mortem? Snow carried the water for one of the most corrupt presidential administrations in American history.

Still don't get it do ya?
If you have nothing to say good about the dead or recently deceased, then say nothing at all.

When James Carville dies, I'll just clam up.

I agree. I've never understood how some people can ignore someone for 40 years and then show up at their funeral pretending to be sad. Usually it happens when the person who died is rich, powerful and/or influential.

I won't. He's a scumbag, too.

Did you know the man personally? He's somebody's son. Probably somebody's father. You have no clue about the man as a man.

I cant believe that you or anyone else think you are justified to piss on somebody when they are dead just because you didnt agree with their politcal beliefs. Was he truthful all the time? Show me a government official that always is.

We all make mistakes in life. Nobody is perfect. Im sure if you put your life up to his in comparison, you might not look much better.

Tony Snow wasn't as much of a scumbag as Jesse Helms.

See, I said something nice.

If these things come in 3's, who's the next Republican to die?

Anyone hear from Cheney lately?
