BREAKING NEWS: Rock Legend David Bowie Has Died!

According to TMZ, rock legend David Bowie has died of cancer while surrounded by his family:

Groundbreaking rock star David Bowie died Sunday from cancer at the age of 69. Bowie was surrounded by his family when he died ... according to the announcement posted on his Facebook page. He'd been diagnosed with cancer 18 months ago.
He was a huge innovator in glam rock, art rock, dance, punk and electronica ... starting in the 60s and up through the 90s. Bowie made a splash in the 60s with his famed Ziggy Stardust alter ego and cranked out hits like ... "Major Tom," and "Ziggy Stardust," "All the Young Dudes," "Let's Dance," and "Modern Love."
He was also successful as an actor and producer -- and got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. He'd been married to supermodel Iman since 1992.
Bowie had just released his 25th album, "Blackstar" ... on January 8th, which was also his birthday.

Saw Bowie on a stage 4 times:
1976 Boston Garden
1977 Harvard Sq Theater as keyboard player for Iggy Pop
1983 Old Foxboro Stadium
1997 Orpheum Theater

The album of his I played more than any other was his 1974 live record. The following is the song from it I played the most and believe it was the best recording he ever did.

That was his Last Conceptual Piece. Along the lines of Ziggy Stardust, Major Tom......(Space Oddity), other Space-Related works he made and other Conceptual Works he did during his career, ★ (pronounced Blackstar), was officially released on Friday, his 69th birthday.


He died 3 days later.....on Monday.



"Conceptual Work" refers to music, lyrics, visual accompaniment married together to impart a "Message" or....a Concept.
