I cant stop ribbing my neighbor about this story. He is a right wing wacko but we get along fine.

He just called me to catch up on kentucky vs Louiville and has informed me that mccain will soon announce a dramatic change to the republican convention.

He said it was on the news, that they are gonna turn it into a charity event for New orleans..

I cant stop laughing at him because he kept talking about that story of Evangelicals praying for rain to ruin Obama's speech..

The buses I think were indeed Nagin's fault. I have seen that dumb picture posted at least 20 times the right just love that one single talking point about hurricane Katrina.

If I remember correctly FEMA led by GWB's buddy Mike Brown. The response to the situation wasnt anything to write home about.

I watched a special on Nat Geo just last week called "rebuilding New Orleans" and the research showed the levees would have struggled to handle a cat 1.

i think he is arguing that because the mayor was derelict, this means
that Mccain has the right to eat cake while people are drowning..

That is the only sense it would make to post that picture.

there isnt a person on this forum who could argue that it was stupid as hell to let those buses go to waste.

But i saw him on tv today. They seem to have a good plan to get people out this time.

I hope people listen this time.

Did you know the starting Vandals FS Shiloh Keo went to my high school? I went to a 2A high school who played some pretty weak opponents. That might be a good reason why they lost 70-0 in Tucson last night.

On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats' convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least.

For example, they made fun of Sarah Palin for several minutes, Fowler calling her "Dan Quayle" on steroids and Spratt creatively describing her as "just terrible." They both agreed that, "Other than the simple fact that she's a female," she has nothing to offer.

Then there was this gem of a moment from Fowler:

We all know Democrats used and use Katrina as a political football as callously as possible. Here's a candid moment showing some can hardly wait for another one.
