I guess they could move him back to 3rd, with Chipper being on the DL? his legs/knees are shot though...don't think he can handle the hot corner..

Glaus to old and slow to play third IMO. From what Ive read, Prado will be the everyday third baseman making Infante the everyday second baseman. They may throw Glaus on the 15 day DL and give him a rest. But Glaus will now have a reduced role

just don't get it. IMO both are the exact same type of players right now in their careers.

Glaus is having trouble running the bases. ATL cannot afford to go 15 games w/o him to give him adequate rest unless they get a power bat to replace him with.

With Glaus goes the offense. When he is slumping, Atlanta this season goes on horrible losing streaks. When he was hot between May and mid-June, they had the best record in the league.

A well-stocked farm system also enables this trade to be A OK. The Braves simply cannot afford to go without Glaus (who needs some rest) and Chipper and expect to keep up with the Phillies when batting Diaz in the cleanup hole.

I somewhat agree, however Glaus has been in a ridiculous slump the past few weeks and they don't have that "pop" in the order right now. Grant it, Lee has not been a dominate force either but we know what he is capable of. Before this year Glaus played a total of 14 games last year. Also Lee is by far a better option defensively at first.

done deal

3 pitching prospects, right-handers Robinson Lopez and Tyrelle Harris and lefty Jeffrey Lorick

Didn't give up anyone major to get Lee. Great trade IMO

This first base replacement also brings another potent right-handed power bat into the everyday lineup, one that has been steadily getting better all year. Lee's monthly batting splits look like this (From Talking Chop):

Average/ On-Base /Slugging April .205 .327 .352 May .257 .352 .381 June .237 .308 .398 July .281 .330 .427 August .306 .381 .694

Whereas Glaus' monthly batting splits look like this:

Average/ On-Base /Slugging April .194 .310 .292 May .330 .408 .534 June .237 .364 .505 July .182 .312 .234 August .208 .255 .375
