Lincecum is from Seattle and today local talk radio the question was:

Will Mariner fans ever get over passing on Lincecum to draft Marrow.

Man that's gotta hurt.

Can you say Sam Bowie.

yeah hindsight is always 20/20, it's impossible to judge most of these players and be able to tell who will have success once they get to the big leagues.

amazingly Morrow hasn't been all that bad for Seattle, he just doesn't ever get enough run support it seems. i don't even know if he has gave up more than 4 runs in any of his starts.

But Lincecum is definitely loooking like the better of the 2 at this point.

They need to find out what they want to do with Morrow, first he's a closer then a starter, then the minors, I mean the kid is all messed up

I understand hindsight foresight but the kid is from Seattle and the local flavor could fill some seats.

Had talent,of course not a lock at the time, but how wrong could they have been.

Just imagine how tough a ticket it would be at Safeco on his home starts if.

And with him and Felix one, two.

But yeah 20/20

FYI Marrow is pitching in Tacoma these days.

I can understand second-guessing NBA picks. Even NFL.

But MLB? This is really the worst example of sports-talk. Just too much negativity and criticism.

Mike Piazza wasn't drafted until the 62nd round.

Albert Pujols? 13th round.

I thought that was very peculiar that they didn't take Lincecum. The Mariner front office is well known for just trying to fill the seats rather then getting good ball players. Being that the Mariner fans aren't that sophisticated it seems to work well. Fill the seats that is. Here you have a big college star playing for U.W. and they pass on him. Even if it turned out that he had a 5 ERA for the Mariners he would be filling the seats. Did management for once make a baseball decision instead of a financial decision? If so, I can see why they don't make baseball decisions.
