The Atlanta Braves upstart pitcher Bandon Beachy is scheduled to make his first start tonight against Colorado after recovering from Tommy John Surgery. Beachy had the National League leading 2.00 ERA before being injured in mid June of 2012. Beachy has undergone a long rehabilitation process and may not regain that realm of dominance right away in the first appearance back however the possibility of a solid quality outing by Beachy should not be discarded. Beachy will be limited to around 100 pitches tonight but Atlanta fans are hopeful that Beachy's return to the rotation once Beachy is up to full speed will be an equalizer for Tim Hudson's recent season ending injury. Atlanta swept St. Louis over the weekend and will look to carry that momentum over into this early week series with Colorado. De La Rosa is 10-5 2.97 ERA overall on the season for Colorado and 3-1 1.96 ERA last seven outings pitching six scoreless innings in most recent start. De La Rosa has not faced Atlanta since 2010 and will be facing a Braves team with a 34 -15 Home Record and a healthy Jason Heyward. Atlanta has been experimenting with Heyward in the lead off spot and the six foot five inch Heyward does have an intimidating presence at the top of the order. Andrelton Simmons has also provided some key hits to get runners in recently and providing excellent play in the field. Atlanta has won 14 of 18 in this matchup and 8 of 9 at Turner Field. All eyes will be on Bradon Beachy tonight in the first start back in over a year. Fans can only hope the young man can post some easy innings tonight and remain healthy for the duration of this season and the remainder of his career. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.
