Today I will risk my 7-0 run and make a huge VALUE play .

6 January

Biathlon - Women: World Cup 12,5km Mass Start Oberhof

Start time : in 17 minutes

Live on Eurosport

OUTRIGHT WINNER

My pick is Magdalena Neuner to win

3 units to win 12 units at gamebookers

Magdalena simply has no match at the moment and if she doesnt make more than 5 errors today I see her winning . Yesterday 4 errors in 7.5 km and 3rd PLACE !!! First placed had 0 errors and was just 10 seconds in front of her . One errors does cost 25 seconds in the penalty loop which would make for 100 seconds handicap for Magdalena who managed to run 90 faster in just 7.5 km ! If other make some errors too and not come out with 0 errors they should have no real chance today to beat that young german talent .

Odds dropped to 4.00 in most places , some even have odds like 3.20 at betandwin . Betfair has one of the best lines I could find at the moment with 4.5 . Nice odds drop while I was making my previous post

Good luck in case anybody is risky enough to tail this play :103631605

hi braniac,

anything for today s men biathlon?

i also like Amann over Kuettel @ 1.89 in ski jumping...amann finished 3rd yesterday way ahead of Kuettel. today is a special situation as they are jumping on the same hill as yesterday...therfeore i like this bet as Amann has not only the better form, but maybe the hill suits him more.

i am still thinking about Morgenstern over Schlierensee as Schlierensee seems not as solid a Morgenstern on this hill, but line dropped and at 1.6 it s a lot of chalk.

Sorry man , did not have much time to watch and work with Ski Jumping this week .

Björndalen to beat Greis is close to a lock today unless Ole has like 6 errors and Greis 1-2 . Odds are bad tho 1.40 but might be good for a parlay or maybe even single bet .

Wish I could find a Tchoudov vs Tcherezov h2h bet
Dont see a chance for Tcherezov against Tchoudov .

Björndalen TOP 3 at betfair with 1.45 very playable , even with many errors I see him making TOP 3 , of course not more than 6 errors

For me Ole Björndalen and Maxim Tchoudov are favourites today , maybe Svendsen but he will need either 0 or 1 error to have a chance .

Weird head to heads today . I see few winners but odds are too low to touch them in 15 km anything can happen .

Start time : 15.00 CET

OUTRIGHT WINNER

My pick is Ole Einar Bjoerndalen to win

5 units to win 7.5 units at betfair

Think I will trust a hungry Ole Einar who I am sure wants to win a race like this . He says he likes to run in Oberhof and always happy when he gets good results there . Yesterday 3 errors but second place with only 16 seconds behind Sikora who finished first with no errors .

My pick was Ole Einar Bjoerndalen to win

Ole Einar too much for everybody else today and 1.45 on him placing in TOP 3 was a gift in case anybody for was ready to risk some money on short odds . 9-0 run now .

Thanks chriscol , too bad I have to wait 3 days to wager on the next biathlon race . There is going to be a women 4x6km relay on 9th .

Win + 7.5 units

YTD : 27-12 + 78.28 units

9 January

Biathlon - Women: World Cup 4x6km Relay Ruhpolding

Start time : in 28 minutes

OUTRIGHT WINNER

My pick is Germany to win

10 units to win 7.7 units at betfair

Very funny head to head against Russia today . Germany is only 1.60 and their outright win is 1.77 . Nobody but Germany or Russia can win today and that odds are very silly . So just take Germany for outright win instead of head to head against Russia .

Germany not with their best relay members today because Henkel and Glagow were replaced by Hitzer and Buchholz however the other 2 they have are real elite . Magdalena Neuner is in amazing form and should be very motivated today because she didnt start in the previous relay .
There is only one team that can beat them today . Russia with their best 4 but I dont think it will be enough today because Neuner and Wilhelm are better than 2 of the best russians in the team and the other 2 members are pretty equal so I see a real advantage for Germany team with Neuner and Wilhelm .

3 penalty loops + 10 extra shots and still Germany wins - incredible running skills!
Congrats. But odds were not so silly: outright odds have to be higher than h2h odds, with good reasons as we just could see ;)

You are right but would you tell me before the race started that Norway would be ahead almost all the time ? I doubt it . France and Sweden almost always used to be 3rd and 4th . France had their worst relay members in ages . Sweden not good enough to take first or second place . So Norway was a huge surprise today but I doubt it will ever happen again this year especially when Germany has Martina Glagow and Andrea Henkel back . :103631605

My pick was Germany to win

Crazy relay today with 3 penalty loops for Germany and an unreal strong Norway team who I think wont be able to match that results again this season . They were on fire today but you gotta admit that they wouldnt be so far ahead if not so many errors for Germany and Russia + penalty loops for both teams .
That gives me a close win for a 10-0 run in winter sports d1g1t

Win + 7.7 units

YTD : 28-12 + 85.98 units

Men relay tomorrow and I hope for another profitable day .

Yeah, I was surprised by Ingstadbjoerg, Rogstad and Flatland as well - but Norway is a winter sports power and why shouldn't the new generation improve!?

Under normal circumstances there can only be one relay-winner at the World Championships in Ostersund. Most likely the squad will be Glagow - Neuner - Henkel - Wilhelm, and that means that they will be better in every single leg than every opponent. Enormous experience of three of them, the stellar running of Neuner and the cold blooded finishing skills of Wilhelm (like today) - if any other nation wants gold, they definitely have to perform a perfect shooting AND have to hope that Germany has a very bad day (which I cannot see with strong shooters Glagow+Henkel back in the team).

Well why would they get better in one week ? LOL
I doubt they will be in the top 3 next relay . Berger is strong but everybody else can be top one day and bottom the next day .

Certainly not in a week, that's true. (Besides, Ruhpolding has a track that is a lot easier than f.ex. Oberhof + almost no wind today, so shooting was not so difficult.)
But some teams and athletes have training concepts that produce much better performances in the second half of the season when the highlights WC or Olympic Games take place.
Still, you are right: this season (!) it's rather unlikely that the norwegian girls can repeat this performance in a way like Germany is able to.

Too bad Liv Grete Skjelbreid and Linda Tjørhom retired otherwise Norway could have a strong team too . No doubt Germany will win WC relay in february . That will be a real big play for me .

For me too.

@Skjelbreid+Tjorhom: well, that's the way it goes. I'm pretty sure that Norway will come back, perhaps already next year. Rogstad and Flatland just 25 years old (Flatland's younger sister reported to be quite good, too). Yeah, I know: Germany's Hitzer and esp. Neuner younger+better, but I think that the german youth concept and training is just the best atm which is a huge advantage in an endurance sports like biathlon.
