Money plays were 3-3 last week. I talked about UNLV all week and said they would be a money play, but I was unable to get on here before the game and post it officially. My sister-in-law was in a really bad car accident on Saturday night. She is still in the hospital in critical condition. Please pray for her.
On to football ... One that jumps off the bat to me right away is my old Kentucky blue. This is just a lean as of right now, but getting UK at -11 seems very good. This line will get to 12-13 in my opinion. Louisville is in serious trouble in this game. Kentucky is way better on both sides of the ball. Kragthorpe is in trouble with his job this year and it will be a lot tougher on him after this game. Talking to the Louisville fans, they even know that UK is expected to pound them. I would take Brooks over Kragthorpe any day of the year. The fact is, Hartline is much improved from last year. Mainly because he actually has receivers to throw the ball too. They are still young, but Cobb is a star. Last year, Cobb had to play QB b/c Hartline was struggling and they wanted to get the talented freshman on the field. The running game is very steady with Smith and Locke.
Brooks and Joker Phillips were hyping up the offense a lot this week. I know they crushed a horrible Miami team, but Joker said they didn't run half of their real offense because they didn't want to give anything away. I think they knew they could wipe Miami out and not give away everything. However, Louisville really struggled early and showed their true colors. Their passing game is pretty bad and it won't get any better going against the likes of All-American candidate Trevar Lindley.
Louisville does have a pretty good running back in Anderson, but one thing I am not concerned about is UK's run defense. The place that UK struggles is on the DE. The DT's are solid and will stuff up the middle. UK's linebackers are very good (led by Micah Johnson) and should be able to handle anything that gets to the outside. Last year, UK shut down Louisville to 0 points at Louisville. They did get a safety giving Louisville 2 points. I don't see much changing from last year. UK is the clear cut choice here. I am just deciding if it will be a money play.
This year has been very tough to cap, more so than any other years. Teams are very hard to read early on. Some teams were night and day difference from week 1 to week 2.
It seems like a lot of good solid cappers I know are struggling early on. Hopefully this will be a BIG week! I will have more leans and final plays throughout the week. Good luck this week!
