Former Michigan head coach Brady Hoke seems to be the leading candidate for the East Carolina job. Hoke
will interview for a second time Saturday. North Carolina State OC Matt Canada and North Carolina DC
Gene Chizik have also drawn interest. Speaking of Hoke, he has also interview for the Tulane job. (Seems
every fired coach in college football has interviewed with Tulane)

*Looks like Jeremy Pruitt will be named defensive coordinator at Alabama. Pruitt served as DC at FSU for
one year and has held the same position at Georgia the past two seasons. He also coached at Alabama
from 2007-2012 in different roles. Good hire by Saban in my opinion.

*Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo will meet with BYU Monday regarding the head coaching job. He is
a Mormon and has a son on BYU's team. Would hate for him to leave Navy after the job he's done there.
BYU has also reached out to Utah's Kyle Whittingham...don't know if there is interest from the Utah coach.

*Texas is trying to lock down Sterlin Gilbert as offensive coordinator. Gilbert was OC at Tulsa last year.
One report says he's coming and another report says it not a done deal.

*Cal's Sonny Dykes was given a contract extension through 2019. The new deal will average $2.8 million
per year.

If you have coaching news...feel free to post it.

Why would you throw your Jersey away?? I'm Pirate Alumni here in Texas. Yes we ALL LOVED RUFF.. But what has happened is done and we must move on. I wasn't a fan at all when I heard the news we let him go. But I'm going to wait and see how all this unfolds before I trash my jersey lol.. Cmon Man

I worked for the guy at SDSU. He's a good coach and he will turn around the program. He also looks a lot like Governor Christie

Ease up my friend, just a little frustration in the post. Losing Ruff and Riley has done that program in imo. I'm a huge hoops fan, so got more than a lot to look forward to this season, LOL. My best friend in life is a K-Jawk and you know who coached them before Self showed up. I get to ride his ass daily. Life is good, don't waste a minute of it. As Coach V said, each and every day, do three things........1) Think; 2) Cry; 3) Laugh.

No dog in the fight but Harbaugh at UM is doing a lot of winning with Hoke's kids. Interesting that Hoke wasn't winning with them. I honestly thought Hoke should have stayed at SDSU a bit longer and perhaps then taken one of the PAC12 jobs. I dont know if it was him or the staff there but they got some really nice recruits to go to SDSU. Less pressure, surrounded by recruits.

Honestly this would be one of the most bizzare hires in a long time. Flintstone couldn't win at Michigan with great recruits and you fire Ruffin McNeil to bring him in?
