I know that Lunardi hasn't updated his thing since friday, but there is no way Gtown belongs in the field right now and WVU is not a 7 seed and Va Tech shouldn't be in as of yet either..

I'm not even sure WVU is a lock to dance. One significant out of conference win (at Ohio St by 30) and they are clearly overmatched against the top of the BE. Losing Mazulla hurt them badly. Bryant has no athletic ability and doesn't make anyone around him better. They are too small and almost all of their points come off jumpshots.

feel the same way...they keep getting respect and are not winning games...Don't like them at all which means they will make a deep run and this thread will be bumped at some point

UCLA is better than I thought. I've learned that the hard way the last few weeks.

They may be better than you thought, but they're not good enough.

I'm hoping that the Mountain West gets 3 teams in so the Lobos can sneak in

Conference USA and Mountain West should combine for 6 or 7 bids this year--

i think illinois state, creighton, northern iowa are solid bubble teams. sos will hurt them though. id rather have some more mid majors mixed in though then 8 acc teams

Will the committee take in account that Patrick Mills has been injured for St. Mary's??? or will they penalize them for losses no matter what?

I'd say the Buckeyes are an 8 seed if the selection process was today.

have you seen these teams play though? This is a 1 bid conference, and certainly will be come selection Sunday. Neither of those 3 teams will have anywhere near the resume to get in. If No Iowa didn't lose to Wyoming, Iowa St, and Illinois Chicago before conference play started, they possibly could have had an outside shot if they could only manage to lose 1 more conference game along the way. However they already have 7 losses, and more than likely will have about 11 when it is all said and done. This team isn't that good and will have no where near the credentials.
Same for Creighton and Illinois St. Both have 6 league losses. Illinois St lost at home today to Indiana St! Neither of these teams have a shot at getting in if they don't win their conference tournament.
I am a bigger MVC fan than anyone, but if last year's Illinois St team didn't get an at large there is no way any of these teams will. The conference has been way down the past 2 seasons. The play is pretty brutal to watch at times as well. This is a 1 bid conference.

The Salukis used to be my team a few years back---I remember they went 3-0 ATS in the Big Dance----It was actually getting near the point where you would think the Salukis and Creighton would be in the Big Dance every year, but then the rest of the conferece caught up I guess

yes strange case for So Illinois. i thought they were going to be one of those automatic ncaa tournament teams, but they have been struggling the past few years. kind of surprising too. Where most mid major teams struggle to keep their coaches, Lowery actually turned down a lot of good job offers to sign an extension with SIU. They even brought in a nationally ranked recruiting class this season, and the struggles still have continued. Almost unexplainable. Hopefully they can turn it around because they are one of my favorite teams as well
