+275 dog Boston College took Texas to 25 innings yesterday but couldn't pull it off in the longest game in NCAA D1 history, putting it at a 1-2 day in college.
4* New York Yankees -143

Yankees are hot, and they throw Hughes out there today giving us a reasonable line to bet on the Yankees. The thing I like here is they face an Indians team who loses their leader, and another big bat, in Victory Martinez who is doubtful for today. This just days after sending their sparkplug Grady Sizemore to the DL and Travis Hafner for that matter.
Carl Pavano faces his old team, and he has been beginning to pitch well lately. But this game will be different for two reasons: Pavano is not ready for this type of game yet vs. an elite team, AND he has the added pressure of having to go out there and shut them down because his lineup is wounded to say the least.
Yankees are surging, are at full strength, seem to be playing like a team with great chemistry this year dating all the way back to ARods apology. It has been like this team has had a fresh start and they are enjoying themselves out there and playing loose.
Hughes was lights out in his only day start of the season, and he has been pitching slightly better on the road where the pressure of Yankee Stadium is off his back.
Indians will field a very weak lineup today and Yanks should be too much here. Whether this were to turn into a pitching duel with the Yankees experience, or a slugfest with the Yankee bats, I think NY has major lineup advantages today in what is essentially the Yanks vs. a good Triple A team.
