Okay, things have been slow but finally Intertops has put their odds up for this weekend's box office. But no one else.

I haven't made up my mine for IN THE CUT... but I think it's going to do pretty good because the book was very popular. And it's sold a lot of copies as of late, with the movie coming out and all.

Now onto Brother Bear... it's been a long time since a Disney movie that is General has come out. Little kids whose mommies only let them go see General rated movies will be flocking to the theaters. I've read that "Brother Bear’s marketing campaign is nothing short of amazing, from the hilarious posters with cute catch phrases like "Grazed and Confused", "Nature Calls" and "The Moose are Loose!" to the giant billboard outside of the Lincoln Tunnel, which has proven effective marketing for Disney’s other big films, like Finding Nemo and Pirates of the Caribbean. The New York Times included a fold-out poster a few weeks back, and the charming trailer was attached to Finding Nemo, the highest grossing film of the year."

It's marketing like this that will bring in 25 million dollars for Brother Bear.

There is no doubt Brother Bear is going to be huge. I'm thinking 14 million easily for Saturday and 11 million for Sunday, which brings us to a 25 million weekend. Which is good because there is some awesome value at Intertops on the following option:

20 million to 34.9 million +150

I bet the limit on this puppy. I'm sure it won't be long before the odds drop.

Holy smokes... I just found out that Disney's heavy-duty marketing campaign for BROTHER BEAR also includes all the McDonald's restaurants.

Tons of McDonald's toys and cups.. etc. No better way to promote a movie. Damn, I wish I would have put some cash on 35 million or more for +900 at Intertops just incase. That would be a huge payback! But I am extremely confident that my bet for 20 million to 34.9 million +150 will hit. Brother Bear will do about 24 - 26 million. Easy $$$

Here are Box Office Report's Predictions:

IN THE CUT 4 million

BROTHER BEAR 20 million.

I agree with In The Cut... but I think he's a few million short for Brother Bear. 25 million sounds better.

I did some more research, and every Disney movie that had McDonalds marketing backing their film did at least 35 million or more. It's all about marketing people, and there is no bigger marketing tool than McDonalds putting out Brother Bear toys with their Mc-happy meals. Kids are going to swarm to the theaters for this one. I'm loving my bet for 20 million to 34.9 million for +150 @ Intertops. No way this movie makes less than 25 million.

Box Office prophets predicts 22.5 million. They're a couple million short. 25-26 million is still my call. On a regular weekend this is a 35 million dollar movie... maybe even more.

Hey, I just noticed the prop is still up at Intertops and the closing time is now set for Saturday.

Looks like 35 million or more had been getting nailed... it started out as +850 and now it's +600. Could easily happen. Monsters Inc. made like 60+ million the same date two years ago.

I'm gonna take a pass this week. Have no idea what Brother Bear is going to do. It's #9 at moviefone, while In the Cut is #2. Of course it's going to make more than In the Cut, though. Maybe it's only teenagers that use moviefone, since they can't read the newspaper they gotta call the hotline. Guess what's #1, surprise, surprise.

Hey Oren,

I just went to McDonalds for lunch, and the entire slide/games area in the back was packed with little kids and their mommies, and the little kids all had Brother Bear stuff. I asked one of the mothers and she said her kids are all excited about Brother Bear and that she was taking them on Saturday. There's a ton of advertising for this movie. Brother Bear is going to be huge. Remember, Monsters Inc did 60 million in the same month. Intertops is offering great value IMO for these lines, especially when this movie can easily do 25 -30 million.

I don't know, I give you a 50/50 shot. Which is good for the price you're getting. Maybe you're right, but it fell completely off the moviefone chart, what's up with that?

spokesman and renowned professional gambler Gil Alwayspanken says "Go ahead, take a bite... Brother Bear is still up at Intertops! There's great VAL-U AT INTERTOPS DAWG!!!"

If that's what you want to think, go ahead. I don't care. But I've been right a lot lately. So I've been doing them more harm than good. lol. And how about when I say there's great boxing odds a wsex... or pinnacle... or olympic. I guess I work for those books too. lol. Nope, I'm just a happy, loyal customer. But thanks for the comp. I honestly think Brother Bear's marketing is going to be the telling tail. And mommies use the Paper to look up movies, not the net.

And what the heck have you've been smokin' Oren, Brother Bear is # 4 on the chart, and it'll be #1 by tomorrow.

Check out the positive buzz. It's going to be HUGE!!!

The last time I bet on a movie based on a very strong marketing push I got burned, remember the Hulk?

The Hulk... lol... what a joke that was. I think we all got burned on that baby. Plus Bruce Almighty burned as all too if I remember. Hey, have a great weekend, Oren.
