Okay, things have been slow but finally Intertops has put their odds up for this weekend's box office. But no one else.
I haven't made up my mine for IN THE CUT... but I think it's going to do pretty good because the book was very popular. And it's sold a lot of copies as of late, with the movie coming out and all.
Now onto Brother Bear... it's been a long time since a Disney movie that is General has come out. Little kids whose mommies only let them go see General rated movies will be flocking to the theaters. I've read that "Brother Bear’s marketing campaign is nothing short of amazing, from the hilarious posters with cute catch phrases like "Grazed and Confused", "Nature Calls" and "The Moose are Loose!" to the giant billboard outside of the Lincoln Tunnel, which has proven effective marketing for Disney’s other big films, like Finding Nemo and Pirates of the Caribbean. The New York Times included a fold-out poster a few weeks back, and the charming trailer was attached to Finding Nemo, the highest grossing film of the year."
It's marketing like this that will bring in 25 million dollars for Brother Bear.
There is no doubt Brother Bear is going to be huge. I'm thinking 14 million easily for Saturday and 11 million for Sunday, which brings us to a 25 million weekend. Which is good because there is some awesome value at Intertops on the following option:
20 million to 34.9 million +150
I bet the limit on this puppy. I'm sure it won't be long before the odds drop.
