I like the looks of Paparazzi... it's a Mel Gibson film. I'm going to see it Friday night.

Wicker Park looks totally gay.

Box Office Report's 4-day predictions:

Paparazzi: 9 million

Wicker Park: 7 million

I tend to agree...

Wicker Park is going to bomb. Reminds me of Abandon.

Paparazzi reminds me of Mel Gibson's PAYBACK. I love that movie!

I wouldn't get your hopes up, doesn't look like it was screened for critics. and you know what that means. there's only 2 reviews up and they both give it 1/5 stars.

It's gonna do even worse than Wicker Park, I think, look at the moviefone chart!!!!!!

looks like they are going to make it a match-up now. It should be close. There are signs for either one to take the weekend, but, Wicker Park has 483 more theaters and should do a bit better, even if they were in the same amount of theaters. So the question is, what is the line gonna be

Deffinetly don't trust Movie chart. It had 3 flicks ahead of Anacondas last week that Anaconda ended up beating. Lots of people are pedicting Paparazzi to perform better. I don't think so... but too close for me to bet.

I see you bet small too, Oren. Smart move.

Want to make money on a boxing fight... @ Pinny bet the UNDER for Wladimir Klitscho vs. Williamsom. Easy money.

thanks for the tip. good luck.

I think Wicker Park is the winning side, obviously, and obviously not a large play for me. Neither are going to do all that great. One other thing, Wicker Park is on the Yahoo movie chart, and Paparazzi is not. Maybe I'd bet a little more if I hadn't gotten reamed the last 2 weeks.

Wicker Park is now #1 on moviefone. I'd say the bet has a 75% chance of winning now.

plus, Paparazzi had more reviews at MSN movies, and, today, it took the lead for yahoo user reviews. It looks like Wicker Park could catch up and take the lead, though. But, the guy counting the reviews thinks Paparazzi is going to win out the weekend.

well; Paparazzi has only been shown 150 times on prime time tv ad time, while "what the hell is wicker park" NONE.

Paparazzi will win hands down.

It looks like it might. Hard to say for sure, since there are really no crowd reports at all yet for either movie. I saw some ads for Wicker Park but did see more for Paparazzi, but Wicker Park is playing in more theaters for some reason.

I saw a big ad for Wicker Park on a tv show that gets 3 million viewers. Wicker wins no problem.

this is one of the only crowd reports:

"Hey everyone. Just got back from seeing Wicker Park. Suprising crowd report below.

Movie-Wicker Park
Theater-AMC Regency 20
Time- 8:00 p.m.
Attendence-Sold Out (I was very suprised at this)
Trailers:
I Heart Huckabees-No response. I think people were confused.
Saw- Lots of talking afterward.
National Treasure- No response. Looks pretty bad to me.

Movie:
First of all, I just want to say that there were TONS of teenagers, most of which were girls. It was packed. The movie very much suprised me. They were advertising it to be some sort of kidnapping thriller but don't be fooled. This was more of a drama/romance. I really liked how they told the story out of order and then pieced the story together as they went(similar to 21 Grams). Everyone laughed at pretty much everything Matthew Lillard said. He brought the movie a needed comedic touch which was good. Pretty decent acting on everyone's part. It started off kinda slow and was sorta confusing in the beginning, but by the end it all makes sense. I think every girl in the audience was cheering and clapping and "Awwwing" at the end. It was a very good ending. Most everyone clapped and cheered at the end(mostly due to how many teenagers there were.) Something that I wasen't expecting was how many teens this thing drew. If word spreads about this being a romantic movie, I can definately see this clicking with teens and especially girls and possibly having some good legs and good WOM. But that was just my theater so who knows. Overall I would give this movie a solid B. It definately suprised me.
"

there was another one but it didn't make a lot of sense, I think they said that Paparazzi was beating Wicker Park in their theater but I'm not sure.

and Wicker Park has almost caught up to Paparazzi as far as Yahoo user reviews.

and the Yahoo user review dude had this to say:

"For the ratios:

Vanity Fair - On one hand the ratio declined from Wednesday and was at only about 200 for Thurday. However, over the course of the day, Vanity Fair received a high percentage of the reviews earlier in the day which suggests that many of them came from people who saw it Wed-Thur. That is after all why openers get so many reviews on Saturday morning. The people who saw it Friday night are grading it. I'm guessing a ratio of about 230 for 1.1m-1.5m for Friday. However, I wouldn't be all that suprised if it is under 200 or over 300.

Paparazzi - It didn't increase as well into the night as I expected, so I'm projecting the ratio to be slightly higher then I did before. I'd say 180-220 for a number of around 1.3m-1.6m . Still it might get a ratio similar to Suspect Zero and pull in 2m.

Wicker Park - It increased even better into the night then I was expecting. That's good for the ratio, so, I'm thinking something along the lines of 170 for a total of 1.5m-1.9m.

The Cookout - It doesn't look good for this one. There is nothing to suggest that this will have anything but a high ratio. I'll give it about 240 for 0.8m-1.1m . However, the ratio could be alot higher and the numbers could be even weaker.
