1 of the best HS running backs in country. Good story came out on recruiting him on Clemson board. No link to story so could pure second hand but pretty damn funny.
Classic Story on CJ Spiller Recruitment ...
<HR SIZE=1>Just got off the phone with a buddy of mine who worked with me at ETSU.
Anyway, he congratulated me on the class and wanted to tell me a story on Spiller. CJ visited Clemson the last possbile weekend. Got home and then the other Bowden, Daddy, scheduled an in home visit at Spiller's prior to the dead period. Tommy Bowden phoned the Spiller household after the visit and Spiller's mother answered the phone. Tommy asked the mother if he could ask a question and she replied "yes, sir ... go ahead" Tommy asked, Mrs. Spiller, do you beat your son? Mrs. Spiller replied what kind of a question is that? No, I don't. Tommy came back and said, I didn't think so, but I can tell you the guy who will be visiting you in the next 15 minutes gave me some of the worst beatings imaginible. Both laughed. Mrs. Spiller told daddy and he came back you know Mrs. Spiller, my son Tommy, was always the biggest liar our of my sons. I laughed my a*s off during the story.
