Lester sucks ass so far this year. This entire team cant even score or pitch.

Rays or the Jays would finish above Boston is my guess.

Down 5-1 already...

I'm not saying the game is over cause anything can happen until the game is actually over but it's sad to see that Boston is struggling with their offense so far in the past week and their pitching is pretty bad. They use to be so fun to watch. Maybe later this year they will kick things in gear but nobody is hitting the ball well except for a few in the lineup. You would expect them to come out strong after seeing how well other teams in their division are playing. Losing ground early in the season can cause a dent down the long run.

And so it goes......

They certainly are having more trouble scoring runs early on this season.

extremely premature...its april 13th guys, this is quite ridiculous lol

Four of the runs tonight happened after an extremely cheap pop-up single that woulda been 3rd out first of all. And plenty of teams start slow and means nothing, not to mention Angels/Rays is probably the toughest schedule anybody's had thus far. Lets at least give it til late April before making any kind of judgment at all (even then too early unless it becomes really ugly)

Plus, this one ain't over! Sox have had some power start to show the last few games, just need that timely clutch hit thats eluding them...just like the White Sox did all week and once they got it theyve all been raking it ever since.

I'm not ready to go nuts here. They have a deep rotation and lots of weapons. No Manny is big but Ortiz is definitley the Ortiz of old. Still have Pedroia, Yook, Bay. Lester was a little overhyped after last year but he will settle in soon.

Big Papi can't juice anymore, Manny is gone and they haven't really been a team that can hit well on the road anyways.

I have seen this coming and it's not going to change until they get back to Fenway Park.

I can't believe this team is struggling to score runs....I'm getting a first look at them tonight live and when I saw the lineup I was impressed!! It looked to me 1-8 looked pretty damn solid to me up and down the lineup. It's the 2nd week of a super long season...they'll get in gear soon. I was hoping tonight though.

They have never been able to score runs on the road. It's been like this for a year now ... even with Manny and a juiced-up Ortiz.

Lots of crazy comments in this thread IMO.
Juiced up Ortiz? Jays will finish ahead of them this year?? Can't score runs on the road?? Its 7 games in guys.

I do agree that no Manny hurts...that would hurt any team. But they have the best rotation in baseball IMO. Yes, better than the Yanks. It is April 14th, there is no way you can predict the rest of the season as of today. There are questions, just like every team has, but right now they are struggling through a slump where they are having trouble putting up runs. They will be fine.

Right now they are probably overpriced to bet on. Sox and Yanks always are. You should live around here with our local books, they really juice it up!!!

One last thing :
there is 0.0 chance the Toronto Blue Jays finish ahead of the Boston Red Sox this year!
