The Bruins have not beaten the Canadiens in a regular-season match since March 3, 2007, when they scored a 3-1 win at TD Banknorth Garden. Montreal has won 11 straight regular-season meetings, the Canadiens' longest active winning streak against any team. Boston's last victory at the Bell Centre took place on Dec. 4, 2006 (6-5).

Georges Laraque will make his 2008-09 debut tonight. The Montreal heavyweight will skate on the fourth line, taking the place of Steve Begin.
"I think he's ready to get in," said Guy Carbonneau. "He skated well the last four days. The doctors cleared him. He's 100 percent."

When they arrive at the Bell Centre for tonight’s game vs. the Montreal Canadiens, the B’s will be the visiting team for the third straight opening night ceremony. There should be some extra bells and whistles as the Habs celebrate their 100th year.

“(Tonight’s) going to be even more special because it’s their 100th anniversary, but we’ve had practice the last two times,” Julien said. “You just have to focus on the game.”

If Michael Ryder didn’t know how much of a villain he would become when he signed with the Bruins [team stats] last July 1, then the former Montreal Canadiens right winger has a pretty good idea now.

And when Ryder and the B’s take to the Bell Centre ice tonight for the Habs’ first home game in their centennial season, that antipathy surely will be driven home even harder. With a preseason game in Montreal under his belt, Ryder feels ready to take whatever the legendarily rabid fandom has to throw at him.

Is there a reason Chara will take some extra abuse from the Montreal fans Vic? Fill me in.

Just Chara being Chara.

Montreal fans always give him a earful everytime he touches the puck. Ryder or no Ryder this will not change.....ever.

The line has been moving towards slightly to Boston all day. I wanted +155 with the Bruins and it doesn't appear like I'll get it.

I'm on three plays.
Buffalo +140
Phoenix +130
Edmonton +140

Love the last two Vic. I think the addition of Jokinnen for Phoenix will pay big dividends for them and I think they have anice mix of veterans and young guys. Hawks may be lacking veteran leadership, depending too much on young up and coming stasrs.

That's funny, does he get that everywhere because I know he gets in here in Buffalo too.

He gets it in every building in the Northeast from his days with Ottowa. I can't believe Komi and Lucic got tossed for that scrum.

That BS goal cost me 4 units tonight. I had Montreal to win in regulation. I can't believe PRICE mis-played that dump in by Boston. That was a bad play by PRICE and a lucky goal by BOSTON.
