Win Totals

Angels under 72.5 (-110), 2*
Reds over 81.5 (-110), 2*
Royals over 74.5 (-110), 2*
Diamondbacks over 84.5 (-110), 2*
Rays under 84.5 (-110), 2*

Division Winners

Cardinals to win the NL Central (+190), 2*
Reds to win the NL Central (+350), 2*
Royals to win the AL Central (+850), 2*

I can’t decide who I like better between Cincinnati and St. Louis, so I will bet them both. I turn almost a 2 unit profit if the Cards win. I profit 5 units if the Reds win. I will probably make a couple more bets tomorrow before the season starts. I am going to wait until the season gets underway before I bet any player related futures. I’m very excited for the season to start. Baseball has always been my favorite sport. Good luck this season everyone.

A simple question, is your 1* bet “to win” or “risk” for favorites/dogs?

Future:

Tigers over 80.5 (-110), 2*

This will be my last win total. I lean under for both New York teams. I also like the Padres over, but I want to see if I can get 81.5. Maybe they lose a couple games and I bet it then.

Phillies/Braves under 7 (+102), 1*

That Astros loss hurt, but I’m glad to start with a profitable day. I was considering betting Houston in the first five for the exact reason that played out. You live, you learn. There are a couple other bets I am considering for the later games. I will update if necessary. GL

Brewers/Mets F5 over 4.5 (+110), 1*
Phillies F5 ML (+110), 1*

I think this is a great setup for the Mets to respond today. Hall is the pitching prospect Milwaukee got back in the Burnes trade. He has potential, but this is a big ask. He is known to have trouble with command and his opening start of the season at Citi Field could produce some shakiness. Meanwhile, the Mets had one hit and are due for some regression to the mean. As for the Phillies, I would rather bet them first five after what their bullpen did to me yesterday. Clearly they have some things to work out.

Red Sox ML (+110), 1*

Rough start. Padres game was 3-1 entering the 8th inning. Astros bullpen blew another lead. Let’s close out the week a little better.

Today: 3-0/YTD: 7-8, -2.2

Somehow the rest of my bet got cut off on the Angels game. Not sure what happened there. It was over 4.5 which hit easily. You can tell by the juice that I was betting the over. The line was over 4.5 (-125) and under 4.5 (+105). I am battling a cold and had Easter stuff going on today. I will try to do a better job catching stuff like that in the future. I’m just glad I had an easy day to close out the week.

Braves F5 -0.5 (-145), 1*
Braves/White Sox F5 over 4.5 (-130), 1*
Rockies/Cubs F5 over 3.5 (-120), 1*
Rangers/Rays F5 over 4.5 (-115), 1*

I am playing some overs in the first five in order to target pitchers I don’t like. Flexen is a contact pitcher who is as mediocre as it gets. I think it’s pretty likely that Atlanta’s lineup finds success against him. I know Imanaga is an unknown commodity, but that is a pretty low number in that game. Usually you don’t see 3.5 as a first five total unless the pitching matchup features two aces. GL

I mention this every year, make sure to use listed pitchers when you are placing baseball bets. The lash thing you want is to bet a team and then find out their starter got scratched. The replacement pitcher is always rated lower in the market then the person who was supposed to start. If you bet listed pitchers, your bet gets voided. If you want to bet that team anyway, you still can at better odds.
