Series Bets:

Cavaliers -1.5 games (+105), 2*
Cavaliers to win series (-200), 1*
Cavaliers to win game 1 and series (-115), 1*

April 11th

Hawks/Heat under 226.5 (-110), 2*

I am going to bet the Wolves tomorrow. I want to see how high this line will get. Right now it’s +8/8.5. As for my series bets, I’m targeting Cleveland aggressively. They are the only favorite reasonably priced right now. I know the Knicks took 3 of 4 in the regular season. I feel like people want to see the Knicks win because it’s good for basketball. Unfortunately for them, Cleveland has more talent and a lot of length. Cleveland didn’t have Allen for two of the games against NY. He and Mobley, who could win DPOY, will make it challenging for the Knicks to score inside. If the Knicks aren’t hitting threes at a good clip, they don’t stand a chance.

If the Lakers win tomorrow, I’m going to bet them one way or another against Memphis. Let’s see how the play-in games shake out and then I’ll add a bet or two.

Heat/Lakers ML parlay (-118), 2*
Wolves +8.5 (-110), 1*

Adding these two bets to the under I posted yesterday. Favorites are 11-1 SU and 8-3-1 ATS in the play-in games. I think I can hit a middle in the Lakers game, but I expect both favorites to win and lock up the 7 seed in their respective conferences. GL

76ers -2.5 games (-150), 2*
Lakers to win the series (+120), 2*

I think Philly wins in five. The Nets could steal one today or win a game at home, but that’s as far as they should get. I do think the Nets cover this afternoon, but that doesn’t mean they win the game.

As for the Lakers, they have been playing well the past few weeks. Their defense is improved, Davis is playing at a high level to compliment LeBron. Meanwhile, I’m concerned about Memphis. No Adams or Clarke due to injuries. Can JJJ avoid foul trouble and play real minutes each game? Will Memphis be proficient enough from three? I have a lot of questions about them and I’m happy to have the LeBron whistle on my side this series.

Yesterday: 1-2/YTD: 246-237, -27.81

Future:

Cavaliers to win the series (+135), 1*

I’m adding a unit on my Cavs series bet. It felt to me like every bounce or loose ball went the Knicks way in game 1. I give the Knicks credit for battling and getting the win, but I don’t know if that is sustainable. Darius Garland didn’t attempt a shot in the second half. I expect him to shoot more then zero times in second halves going forward.

Bucks -1.5 games (+110), 2*

I expect Giannis to be back at some point in the series. The Bucks depth of talent is much more impressive than Miami’s. Unlike Giannis, Herro will not be back. That forces Miami to go further down the bench and play Duncan Robinson or more of Caleb Martin. If Spoelstra wanted to play Robinson, he would have been in the rotation already. I think the Bucks will take care of business in six.
