We are holding our nose with that Wizards bet. That’s ok, it doesn’t have to be pretty. It just has to win. As for the Lakers, I think going on the road might actually help them. They had a very underwhelming 4-4 home stand. Sometimes teams benefit from getting away and going on the road where there is less media and you aren’t facing the nightly pressure from the home fans. You don’t have to worry about going home and being a family man. You can spend a little more time with the guys and really iron things out. It also helps that Phoenix won’t have Booker or Brooks. I know that the leaders on the Lakers are frustrated and have pride in what they do. I think they could get back on track in this game. GL

I guess I can’t win every night. It was a fun little run I had. First losing day in the NBA since February 10th. I will try and start the run again tomorrow.

This might be it today. If Avdija plays for Portland, I would probably bet them against Atlanta. I would bet the Kings against the Lakers if they had any semblance of real talent. Sabonis and Lavine out for the season. Keegan Murray just injured his ankle again. I’m not sold that the Lakers turned things around because they beat a depleted Warriors team. The problem is they are playing another depleted team today. Maybe an update later, but I wanted to get these two bets out early. GL

I thought I was going to have a bet in the Celtics/Bucks game. However, I can make a case for both sides. I kind of have competing opinions based on spots and trends I look for in addition to what I see on the court. So I’m going to be responsible and pass the game. GL

Pelicans +8.5 (-110), 1*

If the Wizards and Kings weren’t such a mess for different reasons, I would bet them both tonight. I’m basically done with the Kings for the season. Once Trae comes back and the Wizards start trying again, they will be a team worth betting from time to time. I considered the Raptors, but the Knicks have kicked their butt’s all three prior times this season. I’m wondering if the Knicks could be looking ahead to OKC tomorrow night. Either way, I’m going to stick with only these two bets more then likely. GL

As for my Pelicans bet, I’m not going to pretend the Lakers have things figured out because they beat the Warriors and Kings over the weekend. The Pelicans are trying to win. They might be the only non-playoff team who can actually say that. They don’t have their first round pick. Murray just came back last month. I think Zion is going to play tonight. Even if he doesn’t, I like the Pelicans. I’m going to add a Trey Murphy points over prop once the Zion news is official. Murphy has had success against the Lakers and I think this sets up well for him with or without Zion.

I actually have a lean in the other two games. Just one of those days where I think there are bets worth making. Knicks and Rockets are my leans in the other two games. Don’t think I will add them. GL

I expect Cade to play today. They rested him yesterday against Brooklyn thinking they wouldn’t need him to win that game. Then Detroit blew a 23 point lead and lost by two. If you want to wait to know for sure about Cade, I totally get it, I could get burned. In this case, I’m willing to roll the dice.

I’m not going to overthink this Cavs game. They got beat convincingly at home by Boston. Chance to bounce back and smoke a severely undermanned Philly team. I know guys play harder when they get more minutes. You still have to have some talent. You can’t be without Maxey, Edgecombe, George and Embiid and think you are going to match up well against the Cavs.

As for the Knicks, they are inconsistently good. They laid a complete egg yesterday against the Lakers. Really no travel to play the Clippers. I expect the Knicks to show up today and play well as if yesterday never happened. They have bounced back from crappy performances almost every time this season. I think they do it again tonight.
