Painful amount of points late in that Tennessee game cost me a little bit last night. I have not bet against UConn in the tournament and I don’t think I’m going to do so today. With that being said, this is the first game where the opponent has a chance to beat them. Illinois needs to play their A game to win, no doubt. If this is a game with 8 minutes left and Illinois can put some game pressure on the Huskies, you never know what can happen. At that point, having 8.5 points in your pocket would put you in the driver’s seat. If I’m Illinois, I’m trying to win a shootout. They aren’t going to consistently execute in the half court on offense and defense better then UConn. However, if they play with pace and dictate the tempo, there is a path to contention. I would try to get out in transition and take it at Clingan here and there. If he gets in foul trouble and UConn has to play Johnson more, they lose any offense from the center position other then a dunk. And Johnson isn’t as heady of a player as Clingan. This game has a chance to be really good and if it is, I think the over almost has to hit. I might add the over later on, let’s see how the market develops.
