From Novers Article.

quote:
Some are very down on the posting forums at various gaming Web sites because they say there are agendas, lies and wrong information being spread. Bookmakers say good posters are needed and proven bad ones should be permanently banned.

Please be able to see the good over the bad. There is a lot of good that gets overlooked for the bad rises. As for trouble makers and proven bad posters, we are slowly making strides in this area at The Rx.com.

The point is very justified. It is sometimes hard to censor posts as we do not know the facts. Please help us. When you see purely false info, please contact one of the moderators and we will look into as best we can. As moderators, we are here to serve the players & books alike. We can all learn from each other.

Thanks for the feedback & hope you feel we are heading in the right direction. If you have any specifics that arise you want to discuss off forum, please drop a message to a moderator and we can talk.

Good luck all.

bart - it's B.S. posts like yours is what The General was writing about.

The Mods here do a very good job in being Unbiased compared to other sites where the Mods have big agendas sometimes.

So cut the Bull and take it outside down the alley where it belongs.

Mods, I have a question: If the RX doesn't want the word F-U-C-K plastered all over the RX and the RX software blocks the word, then why is a poster allowed to have an icon under his name shouting that exact same word?

Rogthedodger,

It's probably not the most appropriate thing, but this is a gambling forum for adults. It is again one of those things that is a fine line on censorship. If there are many complaints or concerns on this issue we will address. Your feelings are on record.

Thanks

General, it doesn't bother me in the least. I was just wondering if it's so important to censor the word from being typed in posted messages, why does it not matter if ones icon has the word on it? Seems strange to me.

The sportbook industry is no different from any other industry, rumors get spread around, that is a part of doing business. Its up to the players and the books to find the truth. Moreover, there are good and bad people in all industries and it will always be that way, Pleasantville was just a "movie", life is imperfect so get used to it and just do the best you can!

Most books shy away from the posting forums for the simple reason that bookmakers and associates (not John Q. Public) who DOMINATE the posts. This is a fairly closed community.

Yes, the forums do help w/ some issues, but for the most part it's the same people year after year with the same issues.

In this time of news and stuff going on it seems that way, but I would say 95% of the time nothing much is going on and people are just here shooting the bull and having a good time. After all posting forums are supposed to be FUN, not places to pick fights or try to ruin someone else's character. While I do have a financial interest from writing, I am not paid to post here. I do it because I enjoy it and I think some people should take a step back and think about that. If you aren't enjoying yourself, why come here? Most of the real news you can find in about 2 or 3 threads a day. After that everyone should relax and remember this is supposed to be entertainment, not life or death business dealings.

People posting under an alias can say anything they please with no repurcussions. They get a free shot, if nobody knows who they are. It's really quite simple.....ScottyS

The one post agenda wonders will be addressed soon. Something has to be done and rumors need to stop. Facts should speak.
