A friend of mine (honestly, it is for a friend) has been taking calls for a local book. he is interested in branching off on his own and starting up on his own. the problem is he needs a financial backer to get started. he asked me. i dont know much about being the book, he says he could get about 100 guys to start. how much would i have to start with, approximately. is there any thing else i need to know?

100 is a good customer base to start.Hard to know how much capital he needs without know whta these guys paly.I would say about a 250g.

i asked him what they would be playing, he said the average player is 100 dollar per game.

Did the guy have his own players before he started clerking for the book?

If not..then what you're basically saying is that he is stealing/planning to steal the customers & well if that's the case then you DEFINATELY wouldnt want to be his financial backer!

Phucking thieves. /infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

With players that size you should be able to start with 150g,maybe less. But let me warn you that the biggest mistake being made by new shops is being under capitalized. That being said, you can book to you bankroll by laying off and moving your #'s.

Thanks for all your help. If I decide to do this I would go into it fairly blind, anymore input or advice is much appreciated.

150 g's i could handle. but 250 is out of the question. thanks judge!

It sounds like the guy he is working for is a cheat, always wants to get paid but never seems to be around when he has to pay. A lot of his clients are pissed. So, my friend, could easily obtain these clients. i know its not really the right thing to do but if a local is a stiff, its not that bad.

Feds are now writing action??? I guess they realised that was the smart way to go, there's no stopping this industry. I guess they decided to join the party. I only wonder what their lines will be like.
