dont get me wrong im just as nice as the next guy and if ONE of my friends wants to bet the pats game in the playoffs ill glad tell him the line and put in the action (id probably book it LOL)...but once you get a handful of guys calling in 5-15minutes before the games kick off...it starts to get a little fishy...when your just doing them FAVORS....

I completely understand and I'm pretty much the same way 95% of the time placing the action for a friend... but once in a while I do book. The best reason I can think of the extra action this week is because there are several other booking options at my school, and these people have finally realized that I offer the best one.

then you need to

A) stop betting immediately
B) get on the ball as far as giving and updating lines
C) get a phone and a # where your guys can call you direct and save valuable time that would otherwise be spent "texting"

like i said i respect you trying to make a buck and you might have a decent money making operation on your hands if you approach it the right way...you most likely have a bunch of squares under your belt willing to lay -110 when you can lay -104 at pinny...quit betting immediately...pay attention to your sheets on sunday so you dont get "stuck" on 1 game...and lay off with pinny at reduced juice if your really heavy on 1 side....

play it right and these guy might be paying for your "nights out" on the town from now until your graduate...

why lay -110 when you can get +110 on the flip side...

If I were you, the simplest thing is to keep all the action, if you are going to book, then book, don't push the action

I think maybe I will start just straight booking bets myself from now on. I guess the reason I didn't before is that I'm very risk averse and didn't want to actually sweat out the games myself, or the fact that I would be rooting heavily against my friends and basically making money off their losses. If I had started at the beginning of the season, though, I would have made a killing. Personally, I bet very few games only when I feel I have a big enough edge to do so, which obviously also includes the 5% of the time I book action myself.

save yourself the grief and make your own money by covering all your friends' bets. Pocket the juice yourself.

There is a reason a book always gives you a readback and it is not just for the fun of hearing your bet repeated. If you are going to text it tell all your friends no bet is final until you text back a readback. Word of warning on taking all your friends bets, If you have limited funds you need to figure out how much risk you can handle on one bet? Find the limit and any bets over that limit you should layoff. Do not be selective on any one bet. If the risk limit you want is $200 then any time you get sided for more then $200 in aggregate bets lay it off, If you want to make $ don't have an opinion.GL

IF you are booking eat the loss and make the readback change.
