Analysis:
Pick #17/100

The San Francisco Giants hammered out nine runs last night against the Brewers - this doesn't happen very often. I don't think they get near that kind of offensive production this afternoon against the Brewers Dave Bush.

Bush has done a great job compiling a very respectable 3.13 ERA during three daytime starts this season and his numbers against San Francisco are comparable - especially against current lineup members.

Giants starter Tim Lincecum is 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA in his last four starts and I expect a much crisper performance in his second-career start against the Brewers than his first.

He can be dominate and when the UNDER is 10-1-2 in the Brewers last 13 games versus right-handed starter - WATCH OUT.

With Bonds out of the lineup possibly - the UNDER is 10-4-2 in the Giants last 16 Saturday games.

The OVER is 8-0-2 in the last 10 meetings - That ends today!

Scott Spreitzer's MLB Saturday Night Beatdown Game of the Year!
I'm laying the price with the Padres on Saturday night. Jamie Moyer has been showing his age as of late. In his last seven starts, the lefty has been pounded for a 6.81 ERA & 1.56 WHIP. The Phillies are 2-5 in those starts and they're also 1-4 when Moyer starts against NL West opponents. As far as my thoughts about Moyer showing his age...the southpaw has been crushed in his last three starts. Moyer has allowed 19 earned runs and 34 base runners in 17 IP. That's a 10.06 ERA & 2.00 WHIP. In fact, Philly opponents have scored 32 runs, or 8.0 RPG in his last four outings. Those numbers may get worse tonight. SDG is 6-2 in home night starts against lefties this season and 18-11 overall. They're 5-1 with Wells when facing NL East teams and they've won each of his last four starts, overall. Wells owns a 2.77 ERA & 1.20 WHIP at home this season and in his last 11 starts, overall, the lefty has allowed just 21 earned runs in 65 IP for a 2.91 ERA! We'll back the Padres as our Tailor-Made Beatdown GOY on Saturday night. Thanks! GL! Scott.

ASA's MLB Totals Titan - Saturday
Under San Francisco (Lincecum) at Milwaukee (Bush)
Saturday ? 3:55 pm EST

Both offenses in this matchup have been struggling mightily lately, which, when combined with two pitchers who have been throwing well, points to a final tally well under the total. The Brewers have scored four or fewer runs in 10 of their last 12 games while the Giants have done the same in nine of their last 13 games. Both squads have been especially bad against right-handed starters with Milwaukee hitting .237 in its last 10 games against a righty and San Francisco hitting .220 over the same span.

Milwaukee starter Dave Bush struggled earlier in the season but has gradually decreased his ERA over his last 10 starts. His ERA has dropped from 6.13 on May 25 down to its current 4.84. Bush has allowed four or fewer runs in eight consecutive starts with his last five starts resulting in an under total. The primary reason behind Bush's turnaround has been his avoidance of the longball. He struggled giving up home runs earlier in the year but has allowed just four in his last 44.2 innings of work.

Pitching prodigy Tim Lincecum will be throwing for the Giants. Lincecum has some of the nastiest stuff in the big leagues and it has showed in his last four starts. He has allowed just four earned runs in his last 26.1 innings and is holding the opposition to a .212 batting average on the season. Expect Lincecum to shut down the Brewer offense while Bush does the same to the Giant offense. Take the under in this afternoon contest.
