i think its worth about as much as a regular baseball....maybe 2-3 dollars. i dont buy into this monetary hoopla over it.

Lets talk about something important.

If you sell the ball for several 100K is that taxed as income, capital gain or is it just like money you found lying in the street and a windfall?

It's worth exactly whatever someone is willing to pay for it, assuming the seller and buyer are under no compulsion to transact.

Still up in the air, as it's never really been dealt with. The two likely options are income or "treasure trove." Having a lengthy discussion about it elsewhere, but no consensus yet.
