Glad to see him get to 700. To bad 714 looks out of reach this season,it would have made for some nice drama at the end of the regualr season. With only 15 games left no shot.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Barry Bonds hit his 700th home run Friday night, toppling another milestone and edging closer to Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron in his quest to become the greatest slugger in baseball history.

Bonds rewarded his fans in the opener of the San Francisco Giants' nine-game homestand with an opposite-field home to left center leading off the third inning. It came on an 0-1 pitch from Jake Peavy and gave the Giants a 4-0 lead over the San Diego Padres.

It was a guy from Pacifica, CA., a residential community just a few miles south of S.F. They said his name but I didn't quite catch it. Wonder what he will decide to do? Give it to Bonds, like the guy who caught 660, so it can go in the Hall of Fame, or sell it.
