The funny shit is this hackers don't understand the basics of a "protection" scheme.
The way it works in real life being that when you pay the mob money, they actually, you know PROTECT you from not only themselves but also from rival gangs and mobsters.
Due to the nature of the internet this is impossible. They cannot offer your protection from a rival DDOS gang. Thus this is no longer protection and just plain extortion.
