from last week news:
...Missing when the invitees show up today will be Kentucky quarterback Jared Lorenzen. The Gray signal caller was not cleared by doctors on Wednesday afternoon after an evaluation of his separated left shoulder.
"He thought he would be ready to go, but two doctors looked at it and said he needed more time," Covington said. "I'm sorry the kids won't get to see him because they all recognize him from television. Just his bigger-than-life saga, I'm sorry he's not coming, for him and for our game."
Taking Lorenzen's place will be Jackson State University's Robert Kent (6-foot-5, 220 pounds).
Robert Kent is a heck of a quarterback," Covington said. "We had invited Jared Lorenzen and (Louisiana Tech's) Luke McCown and if something happened, Robert was next on the list. I probably felt as bad for Robert as anybody on the (alternate) list that I couldn't get him in the game and now he'll have that chance. I think the (professional) scouts are really going to be pleased to see Robert in our game."
