who here didnt try this old trick back in the 80's ? :

you walk into a video store . you brouse the normal section . pick out a title or two. then you head behind the green door.. grab a nutbuster off the shelf and head to the counter.

placing the G RATED movies on top of the porno . cause you dont want to look like a perv....

It was inevitable. You can get videos on demand with your cable, you can download any movie you want easily, etc. Who runs to a movie store anymore to rent a video then go to return it. What a hassle.

You're right about that. You can still download them online although they might be tougher to find. Downloading has still hurt blockbuster and other video stores immensely.

It's been a long time coming.$5 there when you can get it elsewhere alot cheaper and more conveniently.What they should have done is adapted years ago buy lowering there prices and offering options that are more with the times in order to stay competitive.It's their own fault they are going under.I've been wondering if this place was being run by chimps for a long time now.

Nah, they've pretty much stayed with the curve...They've had the online equivalent to Netflix for a couple years and like TRECE said above, they're now placing the "BlueBox" $1 per night dispensers in grocery stores nationwide.

Not sure if they were smart enough to do what a lot of major retailers have been doing for past 20 years and that is to have purchased the space where their stores are rather than lease.

If the former, they're in good shape as they can now sell all those locations. If the latter, then they can't realize such profits.

Ahh I see,I didn't know they had the online thing going on.In my area and others areas of the country that I have been,I have only seen the Red Box.So is it only the stores that are shutting down then?

BlockBuster editted a lot of racy nude scenes from 'R' rated rentals which irked a lot of cutomers.
