no real way of beating them in the long run unless count cards in BJ and cheat in roulette.
Counting cards has become increasingly difficult with 6 decks and particularly automatic shuffling machines (which makes it impossible). So why do people still try to beat the house? So arrogant of them.

alex you think some wheels are biased?! does this still happen today? i know some story where billy walters won 6 figures betting the same 3 numbers everytime becuase he found a "biased" wheel

there are so many roulette tables in the world, some of them have to be weighted no way around it. there cant possibly be super strict inspection on every damn wheel out there

I beat the house in Blackjack without the traditional card counting. It's doable.

As for roulette, nobody really thinks they can beat that.

yup. you are right D2. im thinking of the game with the big ass wheel. (what is it called?) roulette i doubt any huge mathematical advatage can be found in any of the wheels. that stupid white ball is a much a variable as the wheel is

Blackjack is beatable. Fishhead often says some video poker is beatable. Vegas can afford to have some "beatable" games(i.e. loss leaders) because even at those games the vast majority of people betting will not bet in such a way that can beat them.

Many have heard this before but...

Want to leave Vegas with a small fortune?

Arrive there with a large fortune.

BTW, IMO blackjack is by far a gamblers best chance at winning. (or poker)

Anybody with the know how and desire can make money at video poker.

Far and away the best casino game to play, with blackjack and certain type slots very close.

ps- I do not consider sportsbetting, horse racing, and live poker a casino game by my criteria.

The BIG WHEEL is absolutely one of the, if not the number one, worst game you can play in the casino.

of course it is fish. . .but if you know it favors 3 numbers that is a different story. its not like youre gunna sit there and say "16 thats the sharp play on this next spin, see I told you the public was on everything else"

fish, do you have any resources on how to optimally look for and play Video Poker machines?

What is the basic strategy? Forego small prizes and draw for the big ones?

Anyone remember video horse racing games? Back in the 70's would play them, mostly at the Stardust. You could bet up to three dollars a race. (would show replays on Los AL QH races with made up names) But if you played enough, and I did, they were beatable. Why they ditched 'em I assume. A couple times I won on 99-1's (at two other casinos) because I remembered the race. (by the names, which pop up initially)

Vegas- I sure do remember those.

I was watching my mom play one at the HILTON and I'll be damned if the SAME race didnt show up back-to-back in which a 58-1 dog won!!

She put $20 on it and collected a nice profit and then I told her to get the heck out of the casino. LOL
