Welcome to my 2016 baseball plays. I hope I can be as profitable here as I have been in basketball and football. I will make a daily thread for my baseball picks, similar to the one I make daily with basketball. I don't like one main thread, its too hard to find the plays after scrolling thru the various comments that a dedicated thread will have.
My plays are based on the same principals as my basketball plays: Find profitable situations that have a consistent winning record. I will have Totals, ML plays both Favorite and Dog, and Run Line plays both Favorite and Dog. I tell everyone who follows my plays...play them all or don't play them at all. Some days win, some lose. At season's end my goal is to win at least 100 units.
I will have a LOT of plays, so if following you need to allocate your bankroll properly to withstand run outs. If you have a $1,000 bankroll, you can't play $100/gm. $50 is too much. I'm a strong advocate of playing 2% of bankroll until your bankroll doubles. So, for every $500 of bankroll, you would play $10/gm. If you have a $1,000 bankroll, $20 or $25/gm works. If you pop in from time to time, I hope you find a winning day. Whether you choose my plays, or plays from the several excellent handicappers on this forum, you should be consistent and play them as often as possible.
Lines will be used from Heritage at the time I post the plays. All plays will be graded based on that line, and record keeping will be done by units. For example, a +135 dog that wins will earn 1.35 units, a loss will lose 1 unit. A -125 favorite that wins earns 1 unit, a loss loses 1.25 units. Same with totals obviously. I will at times have 2U plays, but the great majority will be 1U plays.
OK, enough of that long introduction. First play of the season:
Pittsburgh/St Louis OVER 6 (-123)
Have a great baseball season and best of luck with all of your action.
