Apparrently the cause of death was complications from GALL BLADDER surgery. Mr. Mizerak was 61 years old.

This really hits home for me.

Pool was a great passion of mine in my early years (8-24) and Steve was a great influence and teacher of mine through his many instructional manuals and books.

I remember reading his most famous(at least for me) billards book when I was no older than 10 years old and practicing his theories, trick shots, and most importantly the many fundamentals of the fine game of pool/billards.

Brings back a lot of memories.

Very, very rarely anymore........maybe once a year.

Couldn't get enough of the game between the ages I listed above, but somehow grew very bored with the game. Perhaps sportsbetting/gambling took centerstage from that point on. :)

Think I recall hearing once before that you play a lot.......true?

If you do, you would be a favorite to probably beat me...........although at times I can still show flashes of brillance. :)

I play about 5 nights a week in some capacity. When you were up in New Tampa, did you ever check out planet 9 ball? They do a SICK amount of business. I was there a few weeks back and was number 38 on the waiting list for a table and like 17 for darts.

More people die in hospitals from complications than the surgery they are going in for. Dick Schapp went in for a hip replacement and died due to hospital screw ups. Don't enter a hopspital unless you are aware of how many deaths they have due to post surgical infections.

i have that book. read it cover to cover in 1987.

I used to have that book too blue. It even includes the trick shot he made in the Miller Light beer commercial where he says-

"You can really work up a thirst even when you're just showing off".
